You know I was thinking the other day, I recall watching the AIW Halloween episode as a kid and actually being scared when the Hare turns into the "werehare," lol. Having seen the episode again recently, I'm pretty sure at some point they went back and edited that scene during reruns because I remember the transformation going on a bit longer. I think you can even see where the editing occurred. Perhaps I wasn't the only one who was scared! Lol

Trust me, you're in good company; I've only seen the WereHare episode once, which was enough! In terms of my favorite eps, ones that have stuck with me are the Wheel of Fortune spoof, the one with the Rose-Colored Glasses, and any episode with The Duchess (played by Terri Garr). I also liked the ones that focused on disabilities (like when Hatter had a cousin in a wheelchair and Hare having a hearing-impaired cousin).

Lol, thank you, I feel better now! I mean I must say I'm impressed how they really went for it and didn't hold back, but still, lol.

the one with the Rose-Colored Glasses
I remember that and I think I first learned that phrase from this show.

and any episode with The Duchess (played by Terri Garr)
Yeah I love her love/hate/mostly hate relationship with the Queen, lol.

Definitely remember Hatter's cousin and how she didn't like "stairs" but the characters thought she meant "stares" and wouldn't look at her. Yay homonyms, lol.

And I have seen the one with Hare's cousin (who is actually played by Marlee Matlin who is pretty well known now), and it was really well done. The first time I saw the episode I wondered if the actor who played the Hare already knew sign language before the show because he seemed particularly good at it and according to an interview he did so that's cool.

And the Tweedles' number in the episode actually had them saying their traditional "nohow" and "contrary wise" catchphrases which was a nice touch.

The only weird thing about the episode is that Alice apparently has never heard of deaf people before. I mean I could see someone from Sesame Street not knowing that but AIW was for a slightly older audience.

And the MC Hammer parachute pants just seem a little goofy by contrast. Their later outfits fit their personalities a lot better.
What later outfits? The only ones I remember are their Hammer-esque attire (Such vocabulary, right? :wisdom:).
Also, don't you wish they had unbirthdays on AIW? It'd be bordering on the Ed Wynn character, but it's an interesting concept, no?

I just wish they could've done something at Disney MGM Studios to tie in with AIW. You know, like how Dumbo has his attraction, Mickey and Friends have theirs, even the Disney Afternoon had its own land in Disneyland! But nothing for AIW, except for the Backlot Tour...

"And on your left, you'll see a familiar house. This was used as Alice's house for the hit Disney Channel show 'Adventures in Wonderland', etc... "

Later on in the show they started wearing regular shirts and pants and vests with colorful patterns. It really was an improvement.

In one episode they actually had the idea that everyone in Wonderland has their own "mirthday" where people get together and tell jokes for them, lol.

I've heard fans say there was a sort of walk through thing at the time where the characters were on a screen talking to you, but it's possible they didn't use the real actors, just stand ins. Some of the actors said in a recent interview that Disney World tours were always coming by to watch them film the episodes and that even when they had days off, Disney would bring in stand ins to pretend to be filming!

That's Disney for ya, everything has to be perfect.

Did the stand-ins resemble the actual actors, and did they pretend to film real episodes, or fake scripts? Anyway, the whole stand-in trick is genius. :skeptical:

That I don't know, memories are hazy after all these years. But yeah it definitely was clever and that's a big part of Disney World, keeping the illusions alive, not letting the audience see the seams so to speak. Hey that's an alliteration, AIW would be proud, hehe.

Whats strange is that there seems to be no information about it

I'd love to just read a good description of it by someone who went through it

The "walk-through" was located in the post-show for Spaceship Earth. It was a actually a voice-activated trivia game involving Alice, the Tweedles, the queen and either Hatter and Hare or Catepillar. From what the interview said, they used the stand-ins.

I'm actually listening to the interview now at 6:18 PM, March (Hare!) 1st, 2012, to be exact. It's both interesting and hilarious!
