Wikipedia has completly blacked out to demonstrate it.
Yeah I have mixed feelings about that, lol. I mean I'm all for protesting a bill that's too broad and will likely be ineffective. But I'm not going to cry over Wikipedia going black; it's never been that reliable anyway!

Nothing has been proven yet.
Past instances just don't fill me with confidence. Best case scenario it turns into the cable conglomerate backed Anti-Net Neutrality legislation, and just sits there and doesn't move forward forever.

Right, past instances lead me to think that even if this bill is passed, it will have trouble being effective anyway.

It is enough, and it has millions of viewers every day. Plus if this thing does happen it means Muppet Wiki will get affected!! :frown:

I'd tend to think that the opposite effect will happen. They'd go after Youtube and other places that police themselves, but they'll always stumble around the Pirates Bay torrent places. Sort of like how Disney sued that child care center but manages to let sloppily made, lead paint covered, completely hazardous to play with "Super Race Carrs" from China in American dollar stores. The BAD ones where nothing actually costs a dollar.

Yes millions of viewers who are left uninformed. Sorry I just have a grunge, lol. I'd just sooner go to a library over Wiki.

Well I do like Muppet Wiki; Wikis that specialize in one topic tend to be more accurate than Wikipedia as a whole.

Indeed. Most specific media fanwikis have a zero tolerance on nonsense policies. Some people find that out the hard way. Though a Simpsons one I was on a while back was horrendously graffitoed.

The irony of it all is that it took the Wikipedia blackout for the mainstream (CORPORATELY OWNED) media to actually report on this bullcrap legislation. They were doing a good job sneaking this one through.

Seriously... if this doesn't prove that there's something completely wrong with government, what does? I love how these big business types whine about government regulation, but when they're hurting just a little, it's all "WAAAAA! Save us Big Government!"

Well actually I have been researching the bill for awhile so the mainstream media was definitely doing stories on it. But I think the economy and the election just tended to be the bigger stories.
