I'm not sure whether the muppets' presence would improve Twilight or if Twilight is so bad that not even the muppets' greatness could save it.

Yes, yes he did. That was the episode where Baby Gonzo was playing the role of the Sandman, supposedly assisting Captain Scooter traveling through the others dreams in his dream machine submarine.
