Aw, thats great news  Hopefully you can get together the money. I'd hate it if you had to put your cat to sleep. I've been there myself. I know how hard it is.
Thanks Sgt.,
I've been there & back since I was 10. We had to put one of my dogs to sleep when I was a kid because he bit my cousin once & bit my brother (as a baby) twice.(I think my brother was innocently playing w/the dog's ears & the dog didn't like that) The dog was nasty anyway.
2 years ago we found out our dog had this thing called Addison's Disease & we didn't want her suffering. So we had her put to sleep.

Your cat is certainly doing far better than mine - mine hasn't eaten for days and is clearly at the end, kidney and pancreas disease. Granted, he's 17 and that's real old for a cat.

I'm very sorry Shoe Fairy. Even if he has had a good inning of life that doesn't make it any the easier to say good-bye. :frown:

((((Shoe Fairy))) I'm sorry that your cat isn't doing so well.:sympathy: And yes...17 is old for a cat. Let him know you love him while he's still around.

I take time each day to let my 2 cats know how much I love them, and I do it by talking to them. (I think they understand me, lol), and for me, hearing them purr, and emit cute meows at me just makes me all warm & fuzzy inside.

On the subject of pet drama, something else has come up now... no, not with Kathy's kitties, or a bunny or anything... this time, it's my aunt and uncle's silly little weenie dog; he's got bladder stones, and is going to have to have surgery to remove them, as they're not passing, they're basically lodged up in his bladder.

Poor little guy, I always look forward to his silly little antics at holidays,

I lost a dog to worms (not Bear or Sarah, this was before them). He died in his beloved strawberries (my grandfather liked to garden and we had lots and lots of strawberries and Mack loved eating them). I'm glad to hear your cat's going to be relatively better. I'm hoping he can just sneeze it out.

I meant to answer you before tutter_fan,but I got sidetracked. Cats understand us more we think we do.Here's a purrfect..er.. perfect (misspelling intended.) example-my cat Spencer:
When I'm not feeling well, Spencer lays in bed with me.The other day, I had a headache (it wasn't overpowering but it but it was bad enough to make me feel blah) I had just gone on the computer when all of a sudden I felt a paw patting my leg. It was Spencer! So I finished what I was doing on the computer & went back to bed. Spencer spent the WHOLE day on my bed with me!(with a couple of litterbox and & going to eat some food breaks.) I was telling someone that either Spencer was trying to reassure me that HE wasn't sick & going anywhere or he was keeping an eye on me.

Sorry to "hear" about your dog, Kelly. :sympathy: But at least he died in a place that he loved.
I don't think that Jebbie will be able to sneeze the foreign body out. It's waaayyy in the back in his nasal cavity. So the vet would have to remove it. My mother is away for another few weeks. So we'll see what happens once she comes back
