On Sunday March 20, we’ve scheduled a move to a new server with significantly more resources dedicated for our use. The site itself should be down for little to no time as it’s a simple matter of our DNS records propagating around the world to point to the new server.

The transition for our forum will require some downtime as we will close the forum on our old server, back up the forum and then move and install the forum to the new server.

So please understand that the forum will experience some downtime on Sunday and possibly for some members (depending on your location around the world) until early Monday. We are doing this on the weekend so that it effects the least number of users. Please follow our Facebook and Twitter accounts if you want to stay up-to-date with the server move as it happens. We'll announce on Facebook and Twitter immediately when the forum is back on-line.

Thanks in advance for your understanding. We are making this change in order to provide everyone with a faster and more reliable surfing experience. Our new server will also take advantage of some of the newer web technologies.

If you have any difficulty or questions about this transition, please post here in our "Feedback" section.

Wait... so, does this mean we'll all have to register new accounts then?

And what's the new server going to be? A lot of people seem to use InvisionFree these days, even though it's kind of a cookie-cutter service. :smirk: I think MC might work as a phpBB forum. *Shrug*

Your MC account should work exactly like it does now. The server move is basically for a performance upgrade which will allow us to do other new things in the future. You may notice a speed increase as well when surfing the site.

Our forum will get some updates as I mentioned on 3/2, but that will come shortly after the server move is completed successfully. Keep an eye on the Announcements forum for more details.

So, we're still using vBulletin, just upgrading the servers?

On Sunday (and for some early Monday) we'll just be moving to a new server. We will get the forum and the main site set up in the new environment as it is now. We want to ensure that all of our current software works on the new server.

Significant upgrades to the forum will be announced at a later date and will be rolled out after we've spent some time on the new server.

Our server move was a success! There are several outstanding issues with the site that will be updated as soon as possible.

The issues we are aware of are:

- Our DNS records around the world are not yet fully propagated, meaning that some will still see the old site for a few more hours. This will resolve itself later today.
- Our mailing list is not yet active on the new server
- MC Radio previews with song titles and cover art are not displaying correctly
- Error pages (if you access a page that doesn’t exist) need to be configured

If you notice any other issues with the site or would like to comment on the server move please post here. We will be watching the server loads and activity closely today to monitor the new site under normal traffic.

Thank you for your understanding during the scheduled downtime.

All I've experienced so far was the downtime yesterday, but that was to be expected, considering MC was being moved.

But other than that, everything pretty much seems just like the way it was before; though I still anticipate the forum upgrades, and seeing what improvements and such will be in store in the time to come for our little community here.

So I can't really tell anything new about the forum or site itself. How is this going to change things around here?

Okay... if we HAVE to have some kind of module at the bottom of the forum, then can we stick with the Facebook module? The new Twitter module is even more of an eyesore than the Facebook one was.

EDIT: Thanks
