The classic 80's tune has been updated to help relief efforts in Haiti and was reportedly recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles. I'm a little upset that it seems Cyndi Lauper, Tina Turner and others have been left out the mix this time in favor of some younger stars of lesser vocal chops, but it's all for a good cause. You'll notice they also changed some of the lyrics and added some rap elements. I still prefer the original, but again - it sounds fine and it's for a good cause. Just thought I'd note it here. :wisdom: :coy:

Coincidently, I was just thinking the other day that the Muppets should do this song or a song like it for one of their viral videos.

Imagine if the Muppets really did cover this song?

Yes, and think of all the Muppets they could add in. :excited: *starts naming as many Hanson characters as she can think of (It's gonna be a long list )*

The title of this thread is rather misleading.

All I saw of it was "Henson Studios Records We Are...", but somehow I knew the rest would be "The World", but I thought this was for real, instead of wishful thinking, lol.

Yes, I love the original version so much that I'm surprised that they didn't include some of the original performers in the new one. I could've done without the auto tuning and Wyclef's yelling in the new one. How great would it be if they did a Muppets version and had Animal doing that part?

The truncation of the title is misleading, but this is a relatively old thread. :stick_out_tongue:

I saw the video and was not impressed this time as I was the last time. It isn't bad, but when you have folks who can't sing without digital synthesizers involved in something like this it could be better left forgotten.

I WOULD love to see the Muppets perform this.

Agreed, I still get goosebumps when I watch the original video since it was such an amazing thing for the time (as was the whole Live Aid event). I was thrilled they put as much footage of the concert that survived PLUS the original video on DVD a few years back.
