It seems that instead of doing something that made sense, like making all 5 of the main cast, they just wanted an even number of male and female costumes. One of those business decisions that makes no sense. Truth is, as bad as they are, you'd probably have people out there get all 5 to go as a fraggle group, but with one missing you are less likely to get someone to do that.
Agreed! Boober has such an incredible following and fan base that will be disappointed, but I suppose it would be a most difficult decision to pick which male get's left out. I sure wouldn't want to have to make that decision! Initially, when I read here that there were only the four, I was quite disappointed that I couldn't have the whole group of five... but then I went to the site to look at them, and I guess I really don't mind anymore as I can guarantee I can make something that looks better anyways.
The look of them coupled with the price that most people wouldn't pay for a costume unless they are a huge fan of the character (and, as aforementioned here, a huge fan would make something that looks better) makes it unlikely that many of these will sell, which is incredibly unfortunate for the possibility of future Fraggle mechandise that may not be made if current merchandise is not moving.

It IS cool that they made them at all, and, admittedly, they DO look better than some of the SS ones, but they still leave a LOT to be desired.

That's the one thing going for them... This Big Bird proves my point

At the very least, the FR costumes are FULL BODY costumes, not a shirt and cheap felt face mask. If mask is even the right term.

But it all points to a failed opportunity for something much better. And $110 isn't horrid, especially since some of the SS ones were well over 50... and only had said masks and shirt.

I think you guys are a bit too hard on the SS costumes. I wore the Super Grover costume made as part of that line for Halloween this past year and, while the back is very sensitive (it's only fastened with velcro), it's an incredibly well-made costume and looks a lot better in person than it looks online. :super:

But I digress, the Fraggle costumes aren't that bad at a second glance. Mokey could use a bit more hair on her head and Wembley needs to look a bit more like Wembley but Gobo and Red look fine and will probably look better in their final sale form. These are just prototypes after all. And hey, just think, you can get all your friends together and have a big Henson brawl this Halloween! :coy:

That one was an exception. it actually looked GOOD. But that Big Bird one... needed to be a full body suit... wasn't.

Big Bird with black pants is UNNATURAL.

Okay, that is understandable. A bit ironic considering Big Bird actually IS a full-body costume and all we have here is a furry yellow vest and a headpiece. Even then, the headpiece I actually like, it seems difficult to replicate Big Bird in merchandise form (Example from life: when I was a kid and constantly drew Sesame Muppets, I always had a hard time drawing Big Bird. I always drew his face as if he was eternally looking to his left. :wisdom:) and it's a decent likeness. I can't really tell if the "beak" is actually long enough to pose for a bird's beak or just a yellow fleece stub but aside from that it's okay. It really needs the orange pants though.

Well, you can't call them boring. But I don't think I'd ever wear them unless I was in a play or something :s

Halloween costumes are notoriously expensive and notoriously bad-looking. There's less demand for them so fewer units are sold therefore quality is low and price is high. People should just make their own. Or...be like me...as freaky as you want to be every day of the year so you don't need to live vicariously through a mask. It’s still fun for some people, I guess, and some Halloweeners are very creative. :coy:
