Hi all,
A few puppeteers friends and I do a basic "intro to puppetry" workshop in Toronto every January. This year it's taking place next weekend. It's a full day workshop. The first half of the day will be spent on some basic on camera exercises, explaining how monitors work and basic puppetry concepts like lip sync, thought and focus, etc.; the second half deals with Bunraku-style or "team" puppetry.
It's completely free, no strings attached (ha!). Just something we do every year to meet people interested in puppetry and share what we collectively know. Space is somewhat limited though. If you're in or near T.O., would like to check it out and meet some interesting puppetry people send me a private message and I can provide you with details.
For those who aren't in the area, this year I am going to try to post notes and the handouts from the workshop this year as long as everyone else involved is OK with it.
