Wow, I have found the most expensive Muppet related item ever, on ebay. An oil painting of Elmo(item 200422214793) for US$12,000,000.00! For that much money, I am sure that if you went to Sesame Workshop, that they would sell you an actual Elmo.Fancy thinking that someone would buy it.The only ones smiling would be ebay.just imagine the insert fee that ebay would charge for the listing price, regardless if it sells.

Do you have a link to this specific item? Because out of curiosity, I checked eBay, and I found an Elmo oil painting, but at a more reasonable $123 (lol), and not no $12,000,000 like you've claimed.

Well, you see it wasn't the "Elmo" or the artistry that made it so high - it was the oil. We all know how out of control the price of oil has become!

You searched ebay stores. This one is the general auction search.Either type in Elmo painting at the main search place or click on advance search and type in the item number 200422214793.It looks like a standing FP doll.

IF this was a well established famous artist, the price would maybe justified... if he was just a local artist, the painting shouldn't even be over 10 thou at the MOST. Really... you could steal a famous Painting and sell it to a fence for less than that. Theoretically, of course... It's an okay work, but I don't wanna look at an artistically rendered 10 dollar plush Elmo.
