Hi,

I happen to be new to this forum. It looks very interesting. Anyways, I found out that puppet productions has been closed down. I really liked their puppets. I was wondering if by any chance you know where I can find puppets that are very similar to the ones that puppet productions would make. Its for a ministry that I am in and I wanted to get new puppets. Thanks

If it's for a ministry, I would recommend a local Christian bookstore; they usually carry all different kinds of puppets (Biblical figures, policemen, fire fighters, little kids, etc), though I honestly don't have much positive things to say about them... they're not built very well, which limits their flexibility.

while i started my puppeteer career in my church..i agree with d'snowth....from experience of having my own cast of puppets...certain members of the group may not treat the puppets well enough that you should invest in expensive puppets...its your call though

When you bring up that point, I'm reminded of an anecdote from Caroll Spinney's book of back in the early days of SST when they were shooting an Ernie and Bert scene, after a take, Jim had dropped Ernie to the floor, walked over to grab something, and on his way back, shoved Ernie aside with his foot... Caroll then scooped up Ernie and said "Oh Ernie, Jim didn't mean to do that", to which Jim responded "Yes I did, he was in my way." Lol.

I would hope that any colleagues of mine would treat the puppets they use with TLC.

Thanks, its just that I do have some of the puppets of puppet productions. Its just that I wanted to get some more because well the majority we had some people took them away and they dont want to return them. We are left with a few, but this time believe me I will make sure they will take care of them very good and that they wont be taken away.

Holy cow! I'd hate to have to come back to a mess like that if I had to leave for a while!

Yea and I am very mad about that. Wow, I can't believe they did that with your puppets. That is really messed up.

Hello! I'm a newbie here, but I caught this thread and thought I'd throw my two cents in. I have been making and selling puppets through Etsy.com and many of them are quite Muppet-like.

Check them out at

www.annemthorson.etsy.com

I take special requests, too.
Hope you find what you're looking for!
