This is true. It's hard to market a holiday that's all about being thankful for what you already have.So in all seriousness, when you've got over-secular holidays like that, how can people make a big deal out of praising God and eating turkey?
Thanksgiving is a great holiday in America to remember the example of the Pilgrims, when they landed at Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts in 1620 and had supper with the Indians- and thanked God for His bountiful harvest.
That part is what I celebrate. And yes, we should be living a life of thanksgiving every day. But it's nice to have a day to emphasize it, as D'Snowth so nicely said.
