Ok I'm watching VH1's Great Debate and thought it might be kind of fun if we here on Muppet Central did some pop culture debates of our own, I'll start off with a few...

Who has the more useless power? Rat-king from Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles with the power to control rats or Aquaman with the power to control sea creatures.

Better "Middle-class or even downright poor" sitcom-Married with Children or Roseanne?

More loveable "mean" character-Sesame Street's Oscar the Grouch or Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Grumpy.

Please state your opinion and give some topics if you can think of some,, I think this might be fun,

Cool idea!

Let's face it, it always has to be Aquaman, lol. The water thing is just not workable in practice, hehe. Plus I always loved the Rat-king for some reason, lol.

Well I wasn't too familiar with either show at the time. I think Roseanne was a bit funnier (at least for my own sense of humor). But from what I understand, Married with Children was the first show to really address the poorer working class, it's just that Roseanne became more popular.

Again, a tough one for me because I played Grumpy in a play once a long time ago, lol. He's quite a sweet, complex character, even today (nearly 80 years old now!). So sorry Oscar, I love you, but I have to go with Grumpy. :grouchy:

...Then again, I also like Bashful.

Yeah but Aquaman can also control sharks, lol, I think that might be just a bit freaker.

This is a tough one for me too, cause I have a love for both characters. But I think I'll go with Oscar the Grouch, because has more of a reason to be mean cause he lives in a trashcan. I know he wants to, but still that would make one more upset, at least Grumpy lives in a house, along with six other guys, but still. :grouchy:

Remember though, when Snow White took their room, Grumpy ended up very uncomfortable in a kettle!

Rat-King I think. Sea creatures are cooler.

Roseanne hands down. I never liked Married With Children!

And it's gotta be Oscar, duh!

1. Hard to tell. Yeah, Aquaman can summon really awesome creatures, but they're kinda stuck on land ... unless he used polar bears or something. Still, rats carry plague. :stick_out_tongue:

2. I identified more with Roseanne than Married ... but I like watching both. Married reminded me more of Archie Bunker, which is classic and one of the ancestors to both.

3. Oscar. He lives in a trash can that has near infinite interior space and can go to different dimensions. Hands-down win.

Better "Middle-class or even downright poor" sitcom-Married with Children or Roseanne? Married With Children all the way! That's comedy!

More loveable "mean" character-Sesame Street's Oscar the Grouch or Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Grumpy. Oscar The Grouch!

Scoff... Scoff I say. You have never read the original TMNT comics, have you? I'm just sayin' there's a lot more to that Rat King than the one on the cartoon. Though, in a cartoon series where one of the main heroes is a rat, the power to control rats is pretty impressive a force to go up against.

I never liked Aquaman... at least until I saw "The brave and the Bold." John DiMaggio really did something with him, making him borderline Tick-esque.

#2... well, Rosanne had that odd storyline about winning the lottery that ruined the series... Married focused on how hot Kelly was after a while. So draw.

#3... you have to ask that on a muppet website? :smirk:

I'll have to say that while Rosanne was a little more real. Married With children just want for the laugh at almost any cause. You couldn't ruin a series like that, because they starting with the bottom of the barrel to begin with. And while the show could just go for plain dumb at time, I'll even go as far as to say the show was brilliant.
