More Futurama equals Happy Andy! Most consistently funny and smart show out there. As much as I've liked the dvd movies, I really think the stories work better in 20-minute installments. Next year can't come quickly enough!

^ Yes, I don't think the writers knew how to handle movie length stories - hopefully the 22 or so minute episodes will be better for them, and the old, better Futurama can come back

That's one of the problems with the movies... they were made to be broken into 20 minute pieces, as was their initial "New episodes" plan. 4 movies broken into 4 parts would equal 16 episodes.... so I wonder if they're making 26 completely new episodes, or they're only making 10, and splitting the movies up...

Well, here in Australia they have already aired two of the movies in 4 part episodes, so hopefully new episodes are actually new. I am pretty excited about the prospect though.:insatiable:

I hope it's 26 new episodes. That's what I assume, anyway, from the way the press releases were worded.

I hope so too. And I hope there's some way other than Comedy Central to see these new episodes. If I have to wait and buy a DVD set, I'll be willing to do it, though....

I remember reading somewhere else there were going to be 26 episodes.... I would have posted the news sooner, but I wanted some actual proof... a real press release. Because a LOT of what you can read on the internet is fan driven rumors. This press release clenches it.

This is indeed awesome news.

If this does come on Fox's Sunday "Animation Domination," or as I actually like to refer to it "Seth Mcfarlane Domination" since after King of the Hill there will be a new Seth McFarlane show (Family Guy, American Dad, and the Cleveland show), than I guess I won't call it that anymore,.

Maybe the "Matt and Seth Power block"

Naw... I'm pretty sure they'll find a way to get rid of American Dad, since the creators and network have been short changing it, and focusing on the "Let's bow to jaded stoner humor whilst alienating the fans that cared enough to help us come back" Family Guy. American Dad is a far, FAR superior show. Mainly because it consistently had a plot, and humor closer to the cancellation Family Guy... and it doesn't need to reuse the same jokes over and over. I'll give the Cleveland show a shot... FG has been getting sort of better with Road to Europe and that Birds the Word Jesus episode... but then they blow it by doing more Conway Twitty jokes. Lazy.....

I really hope the Futurama team can remember what made the show a cult hit, and keep it consistant with the show, instead of cowtowing to the jaded masses who want 3 cheap laughs a minute in between Halo games.

I think they can. The dvd movies have maintained the style of the show's comedy, I thought. And the people who will tune in are the people who like Futurama--I don't think they'll alienate them, at least not on purpose.

At least, I hope so!

There doesn't seem to be an ending in sight, I must say.

But yeah I use to be a big Family guy fan but now it's like ah I'll watch it if nothing else is on kind of feel for me. As you mentioned it's the same jokes over and over. I get it Meg is unpopular and not very well liked, even with her family. I also get it that Stewie is a closet and sometimes full blown out in the open homosexual.

As for Seth Mcfarlane's Cartoon Comedy Cavalcade, does anyone else get the feelings those were just a bunch of rejected "Family Guy cutaway gags," that one day Seth just said, hmmm maybe I can still do something with those.
