I am sitting here with an almost 3 week old puppy on my lap. So to kill time to let this little wonder sleep I thought I would post. We work with a shelter that lets us foster their pregnant moms (usually dogs lately) The moms have their pups here, we raise them and then when they are old enough they are placed in their new homes (mom included) Anyone else do this?

This are pictures of the current batch.
Mom

The brood early on.

Sleepy time.

More sleepy time

This is the loud one.

*melt* All of the pups and their mom are SO cute!

I don't do anything like this, but I'm so jealous... I would love to. It's such a wonderful thing to do, Scott. There's nothing like helping to keep our furry friends safe and happy!

My brother and I discussed it, but he didn't want to care for puppies he'd have to give up. Our family tends to have a hard time dealing with loss, even if it's agreed upon. Congrats for you doing it though!

Skye and Red, it is actually a selfish thing to do this, it is so much fun. We figure that these dogs hit a rough patch in their life, but it may be the best thing that happened to them. Because they get picked up and love and care in our house, then they go off to find a good permenant home.

This batch comes from some psychos that had about 175 dogs. (I think they got 6 months in jail) Well Pam was pregnant and she was bonded with another dog, Margie. (We pick the names.) When they came in they were completely scared and would hide.

After the pups Pam chased Margie out of the closet we use. Since then Margie has turned out to be a WONDERUL dog. She used to hide in the corner and now her entire world revolves around being with us. Not is a scared way but with true love in all her actions. I have to admit she will be hard to give up, but I like to think that we rehabilitated her and now she will have a great life with her new owner.

Well I said too much there so if you all read this much you deserve some more pictures of puppies.

Last batch, they look NOTHING like their momma.

Check out the ears on this one.

How many pups do you count?

Aww, *squee*! I love all these pictures!

I feel so awful for the poor animals who have been abused or mistreated. It disgusts me that it happens at all. But these animals are definitely lucky to have found you guys just as you're lucky to have found them. And hey, if loving to take care of these adorable creatures is selfish, that's the kind of selfish that's great to be!

Cute pictures, but as with all things, they grow up. So the cute factor goes away too.
