(Still upset at the shameful treatment Carol got on the televised awards. Bet we're gonna get that same sort of shabby treatment, while we have endless minutes of CW stars interiewing soap stars about what their favorite CW show is)

They gave him it at the technical Emmy ghetto they put children's entertainment in... right up there with "Best lighting coordinator of a single host game or talk show" and "Best Caterer of a soap opera with a mid-range catering budget." They had, at best, a 5 minute presentation when he really deserved a full, live, on stage speech. All the while, if you remember, they kept a reality TV TMZ junky circus atmosphere sponsored by Revlon.

And that was on a LEGITIMATE network. Think of the cow towing and bowing down the CW would have.

Ouch that had to hurt this ego a bit. :grouchy:

Still it makes you think what they'll come up with for the show's 40th anniversary ?

I don't think it should be that bad. I personally feel that Sesame Street is really the only children's show that deserves this award (that and Mr. Rogers Neighborhood), mainly because it is the ony show that really works on television. Considering the amount of research and specialists who analyze everything to make the show both entertaining and educational, nothing else can compete with Sesame, even if other shows get more publicity for a short while. That's why every time I see Dora or Barney, I just cannot help thinking why children would rather watch that stuff. The format is so terrible with very little value in them that all those shows can do is sell, sell, sell (toys that is). Sorry for sounding so negative about them, but I truly think that Sesame Street deserves the credit for everything it has done.

I don't want this to sound wrong, heh, but it's sort of the same way a lot of people like reality shows for no logical reason.

I do think Sesame Street should get this recognition definitely (not to mention go back to its roots  ).
