If they made a series 2 of figures and therefore could make a series 3, I think this would have made a good line-up:
  • Drake Mallard
  • Herb Muddlefoot
  • Binkie Muddlefoot
  • Tank Muddlefoot
  • Moliarti
  • Spike (or is it Spot? Bushroot's pet)
  • Amona Pine
  • Tarus Bulba

I know that the first comic book storyarc took place a year after the events of the original series. Is there anything in the first storyarc that would affect continuity for future storyarcs, or does it seem like future comics will look as if they were regular episodes? I guess there could be Muppet Show Comic Book-style storyarcs where each storyarc is themed and the issues are self-contained, but I think a Darkwing Duck comic book could work either way.

But if they are all four-issue storyarcs, I wonder if there'll be more villian pairings than on the series, or if we'll have to wait every four issues for another villian to appear in the comic. I know that the first storyarc includes the Fearsome Five and Tarus Bulba (do any other recurring villians appear?).

There were many interesting villians on the show, but most of Darkwing Duck's villians didn't function as a "family" or group, like the Muppets did. Most villians functioned seperately from each other. Aside from the Fearsome Five, occasional pairings between Megavolt and Quackerjack outside of the Fearsome Five, and Tarus Bulba appearing with FOWL at the beginning of The Steerminator (and I don't know if that should count... I consider that a sequel to the first episode, he rejects workign for FOWL, and feel like even though Tarus would have returned if the show wasn't cancled, I see him as more of a Sideshow Bob-type recurring character... A glorified one-shot), we never got pairings between villians who didn't normally work together, or multiple seperate villians causing trouble at the same time.

It would have been cool to see maybe an episode begin with Darkwing battling one recurring villian and then taking on a different villian for the main plot. And it would have been cool to see such one-shot pairings as Negaduck and Steelbeak, or Bushroot and Megavolt (outside of the Fearsome Five), or Quackerjack and Tuskernini. I'm sure those could happen in the comics.

There are a number of episodes I've seen that could have invovled multiple recurring villians working seperately. Duck Blind and A Duck By Any Other Name are two episodes that should have had more villians. I know that villians were occasionally mentioned or referenced in episodes they didn't appear in; In "A Revolution in Home Appliances", when Gosalyn tells Darkwign she has a crime for him to solve (referring to wanting him to find her missing guitar), Darkwing asks if he's after Steelbeak or Tuskernini. In "The Quivering Quack" a picture of Megavolt is shown when Darkwing shows Negaduck that he's arch enemey number 2 after Dr. Slug (Megavolt being number 3). And in Adopt-a-Con Tuskernini commits crimes disguised as Megavolt and Bushroot.

Yeah for Darkwing Duck! Another Disney classic! I loved the cartoon as a kid and I really loved playing the NES video game! I haven't kept up with all the recent Boom! comics, but it is nice to see this character being reintroduced now.
I've got a few episodes on VHS that I like to pull out every now and then.

Hey guys... I'm looking for help/info on the members of Morgana's mushroom pizza making board who appeared in the episode "Fungus Amongus". Unfortunately I'm not finding much on the net, so I hope the rest of our DW Club can provide some talk on who these minor characters were. Thanks. :scary:

Other charcetrs included Uncle Nero, Lady Janus (note spelling--named after the two-faced god, not the guitarist), Cousin Blobby, Granny, and Renfield. Couson Blobby is the only one I recall seeing in later episodes.

I wish they'd release the Saturday AM episodes on DVD. Some of the best eps, including the forbidden "Hot Spells," premiered in the ABC slot.

Hmm... So it's back to culling for more haunters elsewhere. Thanks Kim.

It helps if you get a little more specific about what you want to know.

I'm loving how they're tastefully interweaving Ducktales characters into the story, especially in issue 4. I'm trying very hard not to post spoilers, but if you insist on finding out:

Gyro Gearloose stumbled upon the mechanized Taurus Bulba, who since his last appearance on the show can use his suit to integrate with any mechanism, and he tries to steal the Gizmo Suit, causing Gyro to have to change the code word from Blatherskite (if you remember Ducktales perfectly, you'll know Blabbering was just part of Fenton's Captain Haddock-esque alliterative G rated cussing), resulting in Bulba building the Quackworks empire... basically so people will use all the words in the English language until one that activates the Gizmosuit is activated. Scrooge is put in charge of the company after it goes under.... and SPOILER AMONG SPOILERS Magica DeSpell and Negaduck are planning something for the next story arc.

Magica and Negaduck? Teaming up? In an officially published Boom! Studios Darkwing Duck comic book issue?
Hmm... I wonder why that sounds so familiar. Can't put my finger on it fright now. :zany:

I can think of at least one story, written back in 1991, in which those two joined forces, briefly and disastrously.

I'm hoping Deviant Art isn't full of Nega X Magica art because of this... :sing:

Unless Slackbot does it, of course...
