Hello everyone,

So I was wacthing some Elmo clips with my 2 year nephew on youtube and it got me thinking, Elmo has grow on me over the years.

What I mean is that at first I really disliked Elmo and got annoyed that he was on SS, so much. although I still feel a few other characters should get more time on the show, I've grown to enjoy Elmo as a character and I was just wondering if this happened to anyone else on the thread?

Well I've come to enjoy more of his earlier sketches than I thought I would, like from the late 80s-early 90s, when he was kind of the only young monster on the block. I think he's quite funny and sweet there. I think that element is what's missing from the show now.

I'd still show my kids the earlier Old School programs (when I have kids hehe).

Well, he's never really grown on me. I have always liked him as a character, but it's just the hype surrounding him that is annoying to me. But You can't really blame them because that need the money...

Seeing as I sorta grew up with Elmo, I never really thought that he made much of a difference to me. I think that Oscar was always my favourite character as a kid, but meh on the Elmo factor. I do respect Kevin and both his comedic and puppeteering abilities, and I think Elmo works great when paired with another character. The "Abby's Fairy Fun" segments of the SST podcast got me really liking some of the stuff there, and I do enjoy the Elmo and Zoe segments from the 90s. Not only that, but I do love the "offscreen" Elmo, the adult joking brilliant improv kind, and I also find that frustrated Elmo is one of the funniest things I find in SST today.
