Interesting. I like the lower chin with the teeth overlapping the upper lip. Looks like some great mouth movement. Are you going to build it?

As with all things, I would certainly like to; the tricky part, as always, is finding the time to do it.

I see. Would this bee a foam structure? Or more of a layered material type puppet.

It'd be foam for the head, with some sort of foam/plastic structure for the shoulders to help it keep its shape.

Layered material is an interesting idea, though.

Well layered meaning there would be some sort of structure for the head, however the body you could have more of a wire frame, similar to Big Bird or Snuffy. I believe the Trash-Heap from Fraggle Rock had this type of structure as well. I believe they use a sort of cheese cloth fabric to cover the wire hooped form.
Then the material could be layered over that creating the look of your illustration.

Why is the lower jaw under-lapping so drastically? It seems to me that would make it difficult to tell whether or not the mouth is open.

Nice rendering on the sketch.

I just like the look of the extreme underbite. I used that visual in my Boss puppet, and you can tell when his mouth is open without problem.

I would think the monster would look a little more cuddly than much of what's in Star Wars, I should think.
