That's true, I totally agree with that. Although I think it's great that they were able to make it to the moon, you wouldn't b e able to get away with that sort of thing these days: too unsafe, etc...

That's true, I imagine it was a very exciting time, I wish I could have experienced it.

Also, another reason why the moon landing wasn't faked...have you seen the capabilities of Television in the 1960s? I mean, good shows and all, but primitive quality. There's no way the landing would have looked that good if it were faked.

I enjoy reading about conspiracies, as much as I enjoy reading fiction. My general belief is that reality is so mundane that people have to add melodrama to make it worth paying attention to.

I've been to the JFK museum in Dallas. If there is a conspiracy at all, it just seems weird to me that security was rather lax with all those multi-story buildings surrounding the area. That being said, Oswald shot the guy.

I wish I had caught the Mythbusters ep about the moon landing. I don't think the same Hollywood who gave us things like Clash of the Titans could fake that. Now, if anyone could give an example of an excellent special effect from 60's Hollywood, I'd go for it ... maybe. The whole "Wag the Dog" thing just doesn't impress me much. I'm more willing to believe our government would spends billions to "prove who has the bigger rocket" (so to speak) than I am the government getting cheap and asking Hollywood to fake it.

That's also why I think that Area 51, while it's entertaining to see aliens there, is just a testing ground for planes and such that end up in Popular Mechanics just a few months later. I think the UFO's ARE the conspiracy to mask the actual toys they work on.

Area 51 is so hot simply because it is a fact that the government does not acknowledge it's existence. Whether or not aliens are there or not is of course highly debatable, but it goes without saying, that if you're not willing to talk about something, people assume you're hiding something.

I think JFK's assassination strikes such a nerve with so many people is because of the way the Dallas PD, FBI and Warren Commission handled the investigation. It's not so much their seemingly desperate ways to cover things up as it was their blame passing to make it appear that the president was somehow responsible for his own death. Like it's his own fault for not taking precautions that were out of his control.
