To me, nothing says the SS I grew up with more than Barkley:
I always looked for him especially in picture books and stickers, and wanted to be just like Linda so that I could have him as a pet...It was a sad day for me when he stopped playing tag in the end credits of the show

I don't why they don't use him more; most everyone loves a cute puppy! And his performer really brought him to life as a real dog.

I have to admit I like Barkley better than Woof Woof (except when Bob says "Woof Woof", very cute, hehe). I love how Linda decides to go against Bob, lol. And I get that the scene is to teach kids about the concept of voting. But it still is kinda bizarre that Gordon just decides to change the dog's name. As someone said in a thread awhile back, will he just suddenly decide to change Cookie Monster or Grover's name? Lol
