As a guy who worked on him...nope. It's on his head to stay. Even the original gypsum model has them sealed together.
A little run down on Usher Scooter. He is technically a little more accurate than the standard version, yet he went through a different factory and required last minute changes. This caused his paint process to appear shinier and his nose to have a worn-away look (he was much beakier at first). Series 3 Scooter is too hippo-snouted while Usher is more bird-snouted. The truth is somewhere in between. His articulation is great, yet it does cause him to appear kind of stiff. More than you wanted to know, but I was very involved with this fella.
Yeah... Tis a shame he was part of the "tacky paint" S8. Would've liked if he came with a pair of 3D glasses, but I rully like the popcorn machine/cart.
I was just wondering cuz I wanna customize a Steppin Out Scooter. I was going to switch the heads from Standard Scooter to Movie Theater Usher Scooter, but thought maybe I could just switch the hair. Guess I will have to switch the heads after all. Oh well!
For what it's worth I think the head (face?) sculpt is much better on Movie Usher Scooter than the Series 3/Superhero versions (which aren't bad though, they look much better in person than in photos).
Wow! Well that's the way to do it. Great job. I would have never thought of that. If I had a little Scooter of my own, I would dress him in hats...um...not sure if that came out right.
Incidentally, the area on the back of his jacket that houses the logo for the Muppet Theater actually never appeared on the Muppets Take Manhattan Scooter. We felt the back was kind of bland so I grabbed a shape used for the film's Plaza Theater logo marquee and drew it on the jacket back of the initial character turnaround design. It actually said the Plaza Theater when I drew it, but Ken and Palisades decided that the Muppet Theater would make more sense when mixed in with the rest of the figure assortments. Fun little trivia about that. The actual jacket has nothing back there.
