True, but as a performer, doesn't it feel a bit--I dunno--disheartening to realize that people only recognize you through the characters you perform?

Nah, not really. Folks appreciate you as a performance, however silent. I'm proud my performance as a puppeteer makes the character into something living rather than fake fur.

Must be an understated connection between character & performer then. XD

Of course, she feels aging the characters was a mistake... the opposite could be said for the Simpsons. I really think they should have aged Bart and Lisa and Maggie one year in the 20 years the show has been on... They could have a much funnier teacher character for the older of them... they could be having growing problems... The show has been inconsistantly stagnant for at least 5 years.... they could have done something with it.
*gag* they have done flashfoward episodes, and in my opinion were not very good. I've said it before that they really need to just cancel the simpsons. Let the reruns go (and play the classic pre-00 episodes on EVERY fox channel for pete's sake), but pull the plug on making new ones :smirk: *mini-rant done*

anyway, while I am not the biggest fan of the comic strip, but if she wants to age her characters, then she has the right to do that. Sometimes aging works. Rugrats: All Grown Up worked. Digimon did not work (I cant believe that show is still on). It just depends how its approached

It's just like Power Rangers...Digimon, Poke'mon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Naruto are going to be milked for all their worth.

I think it's a good thing they aged. It saves the guessing on what they're gonna be like when they're older and what's gonna happen in the future. Besides, it's better than having a week of "future" strips.
