For 80s era fans who have the Old School sets

Was I the only 80s child who has the Old School sets and found it a little odd to see hanging out in Gordon's apartment with Gordon and Bob in the premiere episode? I'd never considered it before watching this episode but it made me realize that everyone's favorite frog never interacted with the humans--at least not the main adults--in the 80s. Then again, Jim didn't have the Muppet Show or Fraggle Rock or movies to worry about in 1969 so perhaps SS was more of a priority for him in 1969 than it would be in later years.

That being said, as freaky as and others looked in the early days, the Old School sets were fun and I hope volumes 3 & 4 are in the exact same format and cover 1979 to 1989 which was my era and I get to see clips like Rainy Day, et al, again and the episode where Mr. Hooper's death is explained to Big Bird and Snuffy finally being proven real to the adults.

The wedding of Luis and Maria was also a big deal episode.

I like the sets. It's funny some of the shows I've seen that they think are the best of the best, but they REALLY need to consider things like Don't Eat the Pictures and the Hawaiian trip. I love those as well.

I'm excited about the next DVD set and hope to see it soon.

was seen in the Season 1, 3 and 4 premires. Aside from that he was in a few other street sketches during the 70's. He was in the one that takes place in the Arbor area in front of the Garage doors where he draws the letter M on the screen with his "magic" finger, and he was in one where Susan catches him sleeping in her window cill. But you are you right. I was born in 1981 and Kermit was never seen on the street during the entire time I watched the show. Which was until 1990.

You must've been asleep, because I was born in '84 and it was during that year that Kermit began to regularly--in my opinion--become an icon again after the success of The Muppet Show & various appearances (which would include being on the Street, whether it was to sing a song, to be a reporter, or whatever).

Acccording to a reporter in Honolulu (who e-mailed me privately about the Hawaiian episodes), Buffy Sainte-Marie signed a release form for Sesame Workshop last year: it allegedly has to do with the cast trip, so I expect a DVD set to cover those shows eventually. If only my reporter friend had hinted at a release date!
