The fact that someone would try to rob Hooper's store makes my heart hurt...
Same, but remember that inner city street could be full of crime. One would that a Street "where the air is sweet" would be free of such problems, but who knows?

Well, the store's suffered some pretty heavy damage from a fire in one episode, so it makes sense that the owner would try to protect it from other serious dangers--whether or not those particular dangers actually appear on the show.

Plus, I recall in one episode that Mr. Hooper told Cookie to guard the store & to not eat the cookies within the store. To refrain of eating the cookies, Cookie ate almost the rest of the entire store!

I saw that one when I was in kindergarten; if only that episode had made it into the "Sesame Street Unpaved" collection...:insatiable: How someone would make the store monster-proof now, though, is anybody's guess!

Well, with his urges contained now by healthy living, I doubt Cookie will resort to the sort of monstrousity he's exhibited in the past.

True, that; the last time Cookie has definitely eaten a non-food item, it was usually one of those styrofoam letters from the sketches with Prairie Dawn. (Yes, those are three years old, but he also tried to catch/eat the sponsors in that episode with Leela and her camera!)

That's interesting. Perhaps he's relapsing to his old ways somewhat.

I was able to see the episode with Max the Magician today. Here are my thoughts:

The Goods:
-There were some nice segments in this episode
-Another great E&B Great Adventures.
-While I hated the plot, I liked the ending with Chris and the uncooperative spotlight.

The Bads:
-A very dull plot, IMO.
-Where were the Muppet sketches? There was only one - Murray's segment. What's up with that!
-"Dancin' With the Flowers"; is it haunting us?

All in all, a very boring show I could've skipped.

Agreed: that's got to be the worst episode of the season so far. The mathematical "magic tricks" looked as if Max weren't even trying; the Murray segment was too similar to the other sports-school trip, and the "dancing" cartoon...well, the sooner it gets retired, the better. Here's hoping the rest of Season 39 doesn't sink that low!
