I saw it and LOVED it, it was awesome, I haven't laughed so hard or felt so uplifted in a long time.

Ed, if you still need help with any lyrics let me know. I posted that on your Facebook too.

*Huggles to Beth. Yes, I still am, replied on your wall too. You know... Because I grew up loving MST3K, every time I go to the movies, it's a bit of a double-edged sword... There are times I have to ask what's going on... And with a movie like this, I was a bit afraid of joining in, only finding out after it was over that the crowd was singing with the songs. That only happened once before, at the Air Supply concert I went to last year, that was a great time. If I go to see this one again, I'll be prepared.

BTW: Beth, did you stick around to hear Thank You for the Music at the end?
BTW2: At the movie's soundtrack site which Kathy provided above, there's an inconsistency in that Chiquitita isn't listed as part of the songs used. Also, Waterloo's missing... Understandable since it was used as background music towards the beginning and only sung at the very end.
That's another thing I liked... The ending when I thought the movie was over just segwayed into extra movie goodness before the real credits started.

Well... Off to Gotham tomorrow at midnight. :batty:

I saw it last night (mostly for the theater's AC) and I thought it was good. I really liked the songs.

Okay, I wasn't going to post here, since I'm claerly not a fan of Abba or musicals that are pre-existing songs with a plot added around them but I have to reply to this...

Wonder how Space Chimps will fare, as it was the other major release for the 18th...
I doubt anyone really wants to see it. It looks like a random string of everything that's wrong with CGI animated movies today. Random talking animals, making refferences to other movies, and basically having the characters act all snarky and one dimensional. That's why Kung Fu Panda was such a delight. Those are the things that Dreamworks does, but this time, they made a GOOD film. Outside of the talking animals, it wasn't the fart and pop culture reference fest that all their Shrek films were.

But Space Chimps looks so unremarkable, and the character designs are so pale and plain.... Dark Knight is already breaking records on its first day... Mama Mia may get some respectible BO ammounts, but Space Chimps? They didn't even try with an Original concept.

The only thing I want to add about Mama Mia... I saw a clip on a review... whoever decided that Piearce Brosnan should sing... well, he should be locked up and forced to hear him "sing" for all eternity. Dude sounds like a large wounded Bovine.

For Ed -

Slipping Through My Fingers

Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
I watch her go with a surge of that well-known sadness
And I have to sit down for a while
The feeling that Im losing her forever
And without really entering her world
Im glad whenever I can share her laughter
That funny little girl

Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see whats in her mind
Each time I think Im close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time

Sleep in our eyes, her and me at the breakfast table
Barely awake, I let precious time go by
Then when shes gone theres that odd melancholy feeling
And a sense of guilt I cant deny
What happened to the wonderful adventures
The places I had planned for us to go
(slipping through my fingers all the time)
Well, some of that we did but most we didnt
And why I just dont know

Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see whats in her mind
Each time I think Im close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time

Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture
And save it from the funny tricks of time
Slipping through my fingers...

Slipping through my fingers all the time

Schoolbag in hand she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile...

I googled it. I haven't found a website that has them all. If you have any other specific ones I'd be happy to track them down. I just knew you really wanted that one.

Well, Dark night got about 155 million or so opening weekend, and mama Mia came in a VERY distant second at 15 million (or so... maybe 12 million). And Hancock was #3.

I'd be surprised if Space Chumps got into the top 10. If you want a kid's film about an outer Space adventure, I suggest WallE. Something that doesn't treat the audience like they're idiots.

Man, I hate Vanguard animation....
