Would it be possible to create a Henson Channel? Would Disney consider creating this channel in conjuction to it's other channels as an option? I realize there are many different copyright issues and ownerships and stuff, but could it be done?

From the Muppet Wiki:

In 1999, the Jim Henson Company had partial interests in two cable channels, The Kermit Channel (which was broadcast in Asia) and The Odyssey Channel (which was broadcast in the USA). Hallmark also co-owned these networks. The Odyssey Channel was later renamed the Hallmark Channel.

Both channels are gone now and it would take quite a resurgence of interest in all things Henson for any company to consider such an option. That said, I would like to see it very much!

The way things are right now i think Frogboy is absolutely right, but if TV changes within the next few years from being broadcast via optical cable/satellite to being streamed to you via your broadband/phone company then there would be a possibility for a lot more specialist channels to appear. Also there are possibilities like Video On Demand where you could create your own Henson/Muppet channels or just watch individual shows .... Fraggle and Farscape are already available on Itunes.

You don't need Disney to make a Henson Channel they don't own all his shows. But it whould be cool if there was a Henson Channel.

I think there is still a Hallmark Channel but I don't think I've ever seen Muppets on the channel. all it plays is reruns of MASH, Murder She Wrote, and etc.

I have DirecTV and there are so many different types of channels. I wish they could make this channel.

Wouldn't it be cool if the Disney Channel had a block of programming that WASN'T Hannah Montana, Zach and Cody, and stuff like that?

The Halmark channel is another in a long line of channels that became useless when some greedy co-owner bought up the interrest of the founders of the channel... for more information, check out Noggin.

That would be cool. Or maybe if tv-land showed the Muppet Show at Night. Like Snl comes on.

YES. I may criticize it, but I actually see the logic to actually producing it. I can NOT, however, see the logic to broadcasting those things ad nauseum...
