Apparently, it's about a talent competition. I've heard possitive things about the first one, but have yet to see it.

I saw "GArfield Gets Real" and thought it was okay. Typical DTV quality. Frank Walker was a good Garfield, but I agree saying that I prefer Lorenzo's better.

Well, as much as I miss Lorenzo, he shouldn't be the end all be all. As long as we get someone that cares about the role, and can perform it well, you'll always get a good characterization.

There was another guy who sounded closer to Lorenzo, but he just couldn't act.

I wonder if this is another step towards the NEW Garfield cartoon show I keep hearing about. Mark Evanier (sp) is supposed to write it (he was the original writer of the Garfield and freinds series).

Hmm I was a little so so about Garfield Gets R,eal not because of the animation, or Garfield's voice (though I had to get use to John's) but because of some of the made up side characters. I still bought it though . And I am going to pre-order this one from amazon to . As a lifelong Garfield fan I figure it is the best way to show my support for any new cartoons ^.^

Great news. Not only are there three DTV movies, but the television series has been confirmed.

Turner Broadcasting has acquired the new CG series starring fat cat Garfield from French producer Dargaud Media, due for broadcast on Cartoon Network in 2009.

The (52x11) episodes of THE GARFIELD SHOW will be shot on HD and bring to life the famous orange cat in a new medium for new TV audiences.

The series is timed to coincide with the celebration of Garfield's 30th anniversary and will air in territories across Europe, Middle East and Africa; Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Garfield first came to life in the highly popular comic strip by Jim Davis and centers on the adventures of fun loving but decidedly lazy Garfield, his yellow dog friend Odie and their cartoonist master Jon Arbuckle.

Cecilia Persson, VP of Programming, Acquisition and Presentation for Turner Kids said, "Thirty years on, Garfield is as popular as ever, with a regular comic strip in 63 countries across the world, two blockbuster feature films and heavy weight presence across web, DVD, licensing and publishing. This new show celebrates Garfield's return to TV."

I just hope cartoon network actually airs all the episodes. in case your wondering, 52x11 means 2 11 minute cartoons, meaning there's going to be only 26 half hours.

And I hope we get a box set as nice as the Fox released ones... but with a special feature that isn't a crappy movie promo.
