The problem is that you'd be isolated from the outside world.

A little bit of pragmatism

:wisdom: I believe psychiatry can be good if one finds the right therapist for the right reasons. I also think medication works for some people, but the problem is that usually those who need it don't want it and those who don't think it will fix whatever ails them. The YouTube videos that started this thread have a great deal of truth to them, but smack a little bit like Scientology.

It is important to remember - everything in its place and everything in moderation. That's a healthy goal. People have to find the appropriate rout to get there. Sometimes that takes acknowledging unattractive truths about ourselves. A good therapist can help keep things in perspective. The problem is, just like any occupation you get all ends of the spectrum.

 Herbal remedies work for some and they can be very helpful, but not everything that comes from the earth is healthy for human beings either.

I have a therapist from time to time and have taken Wellbutrin along with the patch to help quit smoking years ago. There were both ups and downs to that but it did help me and I have been smoke free for years.

I do believe people are over-diagnosed and that medication has turned into an unhealthy industry in many ways, although it is important to remember that does not describe everybody's situation.

:search: My thoughts -
*Find out what your goals are in life and health.
*Find what's holding you back.
*Find natural healthy methods to deal with it.
*If that doesn't work, explore all other options.
*If taking medication get an independent second opinion!
*The same goes for therapy.
*In the end are you happy? Do you feel like yourself? Can you manage your problems? Does this method seem like something you can continue and/or grow with? Are your friends and family comfortable around you?
*If the answer is yes, keep it up! If no, reassess your goals, methods and priorities.

Lastly, don't label yourself! Sure, even though we are all unique there are certain labels that can suit us, but don't lock yourself into a category. You are you and don't need anyone telling you different. Ultimately the best remedies can come from the quiet place within. Finding that should be the goal of the method chosen to resolve any personal issues. It's different for everybody.

I seem to have a bit of OCD too, considering the whole "everything in its place" motif.

I'm obsessed with my hands being clean. I'm always washing my hands. Its probably not good, but it freaks me out if my hands are dirty. And face. As long as my hands and face are clean, the rest of me could be covered in mud and I wouldnt care. So, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to that.

As for things on its place *looks around room*, you cant walk without stepping on sonthing, tripping over something, hurting yourself on something...

We, I can't stand to be dirty in anyway at all. But I am obsessed with washing my hands, though.
