I watch cartoons and I feel the same way. But I guess you have to grow up or something somtimes. Even though it argued that the one thing you never have to grow up on is cartoons. It works like Sesame Street where there is always content in them that you may not have understood until you become older. But it's still bittersweet for cartoon watches out their.

I know what you mean. When I was a kid, I grew up on Yogi Bear, Uncle Croc's Block, Laff-A-Lympics, Yogi's Space Race, and Saturday Supercade. I guess they were different from the stuff that's now airing on Saturday Mornings. I guess the kids of today will treasure shows like Pokemon, Ben 10, and Viva Pinata and will talk about their wonderful memories of these shows when they become adults.

But we not only had some quality toons (and even some were based upon video game, comic, and puppet franchises), but we had quality prime time, as well.

Well, there were quality after school between the hours of 2 and 7:30 if that's what you mean.

Cracks up..... yeah. kids will treasure Viva Pinata long into the future, what with it's less than 1.0 share in the ratings and its 8:00/ 7:00 Central and Mountain time slot. And while they're at it, they can go to TRU and grab all the latest in Viva Pinata products that don't exist. Show wasn't a hit at all, man. Sure, Ben 10 and Pokemon are hot (though, for the love of me, I just don't see whythe appeal in Pokemon lasted this long in the US. Specially, since they pretty much stole the villains and a lot of the premise from Yattaman- of course, only the Japanese, Italaians and Polish would know that).

Anyway, it's not even that. Those are cable shows they run at all hours of every day. Saturday morning has become nothing more than a time to pay lip service to the FCC's 3.5 hours weekly of TV E/I programming. I give 4Kids credit, since now they have 2 blocks to run (at least for a year). They're trying to have new (or as new as possible) programming on continually, while ABC just reruns the same hand me downs of Disney Channel programs. Sad thing is, those hand me downs kicked everyone's butt's in the ratings.

And even moreso, those hand-me-downs are still a hit with the current generation.

I can see though, not everyone has cable, and ABC is pretty much the only place to see said Hanna show.

All I care is that we actually have Spider-Man season 2 on broadcast TV. I've heard conflicting reports about CW4Kids still airing it or not.

So, unless something utterly amazing comes up, it's just Spidey and the Turtles for me.

Same. That, or buying DVDs. Then again, no matter how dire the situation or how stupid the angles or decisions, I'll still be a WWF/E fan...even though the 'Taker has seemingly vanished after being "banished".

*grumbles about how idiotic Vicky Guerrero's favoritism is*

But to get the thread back on topic: All we need is one Saturday morning (not necessarily the cartoon block that shelved The Disney Afternoon, but just a sole Saturday morning) to be dedicated to quality cartoons and shows that don't make the audience groan at having to view/sit through it due to it either being the "interactive" type (think most Nick Jr. shows since 1998 & the like) or re-using the same stale formula over-and-over (that--right now--is the teenybopper formula). This way, execs could see how Saturdays prospered once upon a time.

I thought it wasn't quite the same when after one Saturday morning came along. But it was interesting as that's when all the middle school genre of cartoons became really popular.
