I know, I know, you're right, hehe. I just didn't like the parents saying "Oh well, if it looks clean, it must be fine." Not always the best way to go about it, hehe.
Yeah1 Have to agree with you that was not very responsible parenting this their part. They should have taken it to a laboratory and had is examined first, heh! But I seriously know what you mean.

Well it's sort of like parents refusing to listen to experts who say that TV is not beneficial (and potentially harmful) to one year olds. I totally understand that parenting is a tough job and sometimes you need a break and parents are busier than they ever were before. But it's not right to just dismiss a warning, if it could be true. It may not be, but it's worth a least a listen. And the experts also did say it's actually better for kids that young to watch something like American Idol, because it's less visually shocking for a one year old than something like Teletubbies.

I would agree and I really have never seen how one year olds have every got anything from shows like Teletubbies? I just don't understand how that beneficial to anything or how it contributes to society at all? And I rally don't understand how it's lasted and has been on the air for TEN Years? And I do agree that American Idol is las visibly shocking then something like this show. I agree that you should not dismiss anything that may be harmful of damaging to your child. And you're right that it's not exactly an excuse or the best idea to do go that rough and say that that you wouldn't worry about something like that. It's just kinda sad that you wouldn't even give something that could be dangerous to your child a listen, I mean what kind of parent would do something like that?

Well I'm going to try and be sympathetic here for a moment, it's very hard raising a child nowadays. Often both parents need to work just to keep the family going. Even if mothers (or fathers) stay home, they don't have the extended family to help like they used to. And you can't watch your kid 24 hours a day, you'll go insane. I completely understand all of that. The US is not an altogether great place to raise or be a kid right now.

However, I still say parents sound take some warnings more seriously. Especially when experts offer an alternative (i.e. American Idol type shows). Not all warnings should be taken seriously, but somehow this one makes sense to me.

Also though, parents are way too trusting of the TV. They put their kids in front of it and trust that it will be just fine. They don't do the research. They think "Oh well, it's cute and popular, it must be fine." And when the kids are older and adoring pretty popular teen idols who end up disapointing them, the parents are left to do damage control. I have little sympathy there, heh. You need to do your homework, even with TV.

Agreed! And the way kids are being raised now days with parents sitting their children in from of the TV just because its cute and popular and not taking the time out to do the research. All these kind of things and how children are being raise no days are really concerning me about how the future is going to end up truing out. *swallows hard*

I ate snow. I ate dirt. I ate an ant once . I'm still alive
My great aunt who is 93 ate more than I ever did back in the day.
Anything might kill you but not living is like dieing anyway...So a little dirt never truly hurt anyone
