Okay, here's a brief status update:

We got ourselves a lawyer, and he's sueing the landlady (and her husband) for $3,500 (or maybe it's $35,000, I forget) for a whole bunch of things, including an injury my mom sustained when the kitchen sinks, dishwasher, and washing machine ALL went haywire at once and flooded the house, causing my mom to slip, fall, and tear her hamstring. But that's not even the half of it, like I said, a whole bunch of things like not fixing up the house before we moved in like they said they would, and us having to have the plumbing fixed ourselves (some of which hasn't been done yet) because she refused to have it fixed before we moved it for all kinds of crazy extra fees in addition to the rent, so there's your status update.

I wish you luck with everything!

Any landlord should just be grateful to get tenants, Christian or not. Heh.

Well, here it is going on the second week of March, and we're still here, lol (we were being evicted on the 29th of February)!

Our lawyer tells us to keep the receipts from my mom's doctor visits, and physical therapy for her injury sustained for slipping and falling from the washing machine flooding and overflowing (at the same time both kitchen sinks and the dishwasher did, thus giving the house a nice little flood), so the landlords may be sued for even more than initially.

On the down side, however, the "For Rent" sign is still in front of our house, and flocks of rude people just waltz right up out of the clear blue wanting a tour, so we had to put up a "Do Not Disturb" sign on our front door; that worked for a while, until people decided to trespass into our backyard to get to the back door, hence why we had to get a lock for the gate leading to our backyard to keep people out.

Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear about all the craziness happening right now, Snowthers. But yay for still being there! Hopefully, that's a very, very, very good sign.

Yeah, but apparently my parents are still searching through the real estate section of the paper. Our lawyer predicts that we'll still be here for a little while, but will eventually have to still leave anyway, but he DID say that if that were the case (assuming we have a good one ourselves), then the landlords would have to cut through red-tape so-to-speak, and have a legitimate, LEGAL reason for wanting us out.
