Oops! That's right, I meant Nicky. John Tartaglia was Rod. He's amazing too. I saw the original Broadway cast; they were all fantastic.

I got to see it twice on Broadway and between the two performances, the only original cast member I DIDN'T get to see was Rick Lyon. He was out both times! I did get to talk to John Tartaglia, though.

I agree - I saw most of the original cast on Broadway, the only person I didn't see there was Ann Harada, but I got to see her in the West End production (the original Nicky/Trekkie performer in that production was excellent too)

Wow! I would love to have such an opportunity! That's pretty greedy of me to say since I got to talk to Mr. Lyon via email, where he answered my questions about puppet rod construction and wished me luck on my puppetry escapades. But he seems like such a charming fellow! Meeting someone you admire in person must've been one heck of an experience.

Nope.

So, what exactly do you know about Avenue Q? Cuz, it definitely is NOT "Muppet" material. Even on Jim's most mischevious days, he never would have produced some of the material in Avenue Q.

Well, maybe he would have produced it, but not released it under the Muppet brand name. He was far too brand conscious to do that.

D'Snowth MUST read the big, fuzzy orange "AVENUE Q" Book! It says everything u wanna know bout the process of approval Ave. Q went through. And, since Rick Lyon was Jim Henson's apprentice, he probably had an advantage in the process.
