If you listen to MC Radio you may have noticed a change over the past few days. Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock Songs not released on an official album now denote their season of release in the tag info for each song. Likewise, because some Sesame Street songs are difficult to pinpoint the exact season of the release, I’ve denoted these by the decade (1970’s, 1980’s, etc.)

If you’re listening to MC Radio and believe a track is identified incorrectly, please post here and let us know. We want to ensure the songs are listed as accurately as possible.

Hi Phill, this is a great idea! Thanks! Only one thing, the songs from TV appearances, such as the Elmo medley from the Waine Bradey Show, and Especially For You from An Audience with Kylie Minogue, don't seem to have years on them. Is there a specific reason for this, or was it just an oversight?
Either way, I'm greatly enjoying this new feature!

The changes currently only apply to Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock songs which are now listed by seasons and Sesame Street songs which are listed by decade. All the others are listed the same.

Currently? Does this mean it may change to include such appearances?

Thanks Phill!

That is a change which i did notice. Even though i can't actually listen to the radio with my system at home, i can listen when i'm at library (though usually because i have limited time, with all the other recent content that's been popping up, usually i'm catching up on some of that but i digress). I can though see what tracks are playing at a given time...i like how you have the Sesame songs broken up by decade since a lot of times knowing the particular season it debuted may be hard, though i think you should still make an effort to include the season when it is actually known...i know i've seen a couple from season 1 which was listed as "The 60's" - you could just as easily put "1969" or better still "Season 1"

Well as for me, decade was good enough, enough to give one an idea anyway. Only thing is now, I'm noticing a lot of songs without years on them.

That was because we were broadcasting in basic mode from Live365's server for a short time. We're now broadcasting live from our server. I'll be updating our basic tracks to reflect the same changes so that it doesn't happen again.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up Phill. I'm seeing a song now that says it's the Muppet Medley from MCMXCVI. I assume that's a result of the change, but what does it mean? Is it a mistake?

No "MCMXCVI" is the official name of the Princeton Nassoons album that contains their live version of the Muppet Medley.
