3. Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium - Negative 0 Stars.
Even if I had an OUNCE of interest in seeing this movie, it would've been because of Kathy Greenwood... but now that she's not in it anymore, I have no interest whatsoever, and I absolutely REFUSE to watch even a split second frame of this movie!

Well, someone didn't do too well in Math class. As Zero doesn't have a value, it cannot be negative, nor can it be positive. As adding zero, or taking it away from something does not add to or decrease the value. So if you gave it negative Zero stars it would be quite the same as giving it zero stars anyway.

Just wanna correct you on that.

Anyway, I've only seen a few movies so here goes:

TMNT- 4.5 Stars. Now, I took away a half star due to the fact they really should have made it a PG 13 movie, and saying kids wouldn't go see it if it was rated PG13 is total Bullpoo, as that didn't deterr them from Spiderman or Batman. But reguardless, the best Turtles film since the first one all the way back in 90. A very powerful moment between Raph and Leo, as well as not focusing on Shredder as the villain (a similar move to every Batman film featuring the Joker) really made it quite a daring little film. Plus, it was a continuation of franchise, and a freefloating sequal, not a relaunch like other films.

Aqua Teen hunger Force- 4.5 stars. Honestly, I was gonna want to see this anyway, but the fact Menino went ballistic about the big scary light brites that didn't hurt anyone, I felt it was my duty as a Bostonian to see this film. Now, if you go into this film not expecting Aqua Teen Hunger Force, you won't like it. But if you know what's coming, you'll get every confusing, self contradictory plot exposiotion, and Mooninite joke in the film. And come on. Who doesn't want to see what Adobe Premire animation looks like on the big Screen. And with improved animation too (Carl actually has a WALK CYCLE!)

Ratatoullie-5 stars- No Poop jokes. No Fart Jokes. None of that silly junk, that seems tacked on to kiddy films. Just an honest story about a rat overcoming the odds, albiet deceptively, to become a chef. Followed by great satire of Celebrity chef sellouts, as well as people who exploit one's image after their death for profit. And Patton Oswalt deserves a bloody starring role, playing second to everyone in his entire career. he's better than that.

The Simpsons the movie- 4.5 Stars. While many feel that Star Wars episode 3 saved the franchise, I feel the same for this film. Much funnier than the junk we have now (though this season has some very good episodes so far). Classic humor, and certin "we're in a movie, we have a different set of standards and practices" jokes (I.e. Homer's Adieu to the town of Springfeild, and Bart's Shin-chan moment) really made it pop. Plus, Homer's screw you comment to the Audience at the beginning was priceless.

Bee Movie-4 stars- Very enjoyable, funny plot. I can't shake the fact that it was pretty much an animated story version of his stand up routine. But one of my favorite Dreamworks films so far. I kinda liked Over the Hedge a tiny bit better, but still, I quite enjoyed it.

Shrek 3- 3 stars. My least favorite of the trilogy (and series so far) due to the fact it really had a loose plotline, and followed the same formula as the first 2 films (poor me Shrek acts like a Jerk, because he's secretly hurting inside). Plus, a lot of the Puss and Donkey Caustic relationship stuff was done in the second film. Had they got along a little better it wouldn't have had that Been there done that feeling. Though I will say, Eric Idle really had a memeorable performance as Merlin. Much better than even John Cleese's role in the second film.

No, I really didn't... I barely made Cs in math class; I usually held a D average in math... but thankfully, D is considered passable, though it DOES make for spanking and grounding as far as parents are concerned.

I love film so much that I was schooled in it for some years before changing majors. I tend to see a lot of movies as they are somewhat of a healthy addiction. I sometimes look at them with different eyes than my friends. Not better or worse, but there's usually something to engage my interest in even the most mundane film. My scores can reflect that. I know some have been left out.

These are grades for films I have actually seen from beginning to end.

5/A+
Ratatouille – pitch perfect animated film for connoisseurs
300 – beautifully made and dramatic
Pan's Labyrinth – gorgeous, fantastic, truly original

4.75/A
The Golden Compass – misunderstood, stunning to watch

4.5/A-
Hot Fuzz – funny and smart
Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix – leaner and better

4.25/B+
Zodiac – great filmmaking deserving of its length
Meet the Robinsons – sweet story, great characters, fine animation and the music
Hairspray – didn’t expect to like it so much as a Waters fan
Charlie Wilson’s War – unexpectedly poignant, smart and even funny

Another OK movie, but I thought the ending was a little dissapointing. I kinda felt like I had watched the whole movie for nothing. To think it's the first movie where Will Smith actually....well, I won't spoil it for others.

Beyonce? A-list? I admit that Jennifer Hudson won an award, but hasn't yet earned A-list status until she gets a few more projects under her belt. The rest really aren't my taste. It would have been nice to see one actor I could see as an anchor but Murhpy and Foxx don't quite fit the bill for me.

Everything in that film should appeal to me (especially), but doesn't. I caught a few minutes on cable and meh. I very well could be wrong about it, but can wait.

But you're right, it was 06, hence the Oscars.

I was excited about I Am Legend, but it just sort of fizzled for me. I have to admit, not a Smith fan either, but he did a fine job in this film. Film can kind of be like a recipe. You can have all the right ingredients and the dish can still taste off for the smallest of reasons.

I saw Sweeny Todd last night, and I liked it alright I guess. It was a little too odd for me to absolutely LOVE it, but still an enjoyable film.

I forgot I went to see Mr. Bean's Holiday. I thouroughly enjoyed it, and felt it was much better than the Americanized "Bean" from 1998. And he didn't just rehash a bunch of his old routines (also like in Bean). And, the plot actually had a plot to it. I mean, I liked "Bean," but the only funny and exciting part of the movie is when he ruins Whistler's mother, and makes a copy out of a giftshop poster.

This movie had a little more depth. It could have been better, but I'm just glad it was released in the US. Seems like something they'd glaze over.

you know, I don't think I saw any new movies in 2007.. there weren't any I was interested in that I thought would be any different on the small screen.. maybe this year will be better.. well, I'll see the new Bond, at least .. and probably Prince Caspian, too


EDIT: I was wrong, I did see Fracture.. it was OK.. Hopkins was great, as always, but the movie was too predictable
