Studios that rely on certain voice artists a lot.

It seems like cartoon studios rely on one particular voice artist for almost all of their shows.

In the old days, WB had Mel Blanc doing almost all their characters. Today they mostly rely on Rob Paulsen and also Jeff Bennett.

Hanna-Barbera relied on Daws Butler and Don Messick in the old days and then Frank Welker. But the now renamed Cartoon Network studios seem to rely on Tom Kenny and Grey Delisle a lot.

Nickelodeon also seems to rely on Tom Kenny a lot, especially for Spongebob Squarepants.

The old Filmation studios relied on Alan Oppenheimer for a lot of their cartoons.

When Disney started doing TV cartoons in the 80's, they had Jim Cummings do voices for all their shows, but these days, Jim seems to perform less and Jeff Bennett is now doing the most voices for Disney.

And every cartoon and movie studio relies on Frank Welker when they need animal noises done.

The old Filmation studios relied on Alan Oppenheimer for a lot of their cartoons.

They also relied a lot on producer Lou Schimer a lot as well. This was out of necessity...
You see in the original "Hey Hey Hey! It's Fat Albert" special Dumb Donald only had one line, and they didn't want to have to pay extra for an actor to come in and record one line. So Lou did it himself. That lead him to be a main voice actor, especially on Fat Albert (He also voiced Stinger and most of the adults) he's extreemly modest about it. Of course, he also had his family do voicework too. his Daughter and Wife played a few thrid string characters, Like Mrs. Bryfogle the teacher (his wife) and Tweeterbelle (his daughter). Lou is actually uncredited.

Jay Ward also relied on the same actors... as I like to dub them the Royal Mooselvanian Voice acting brigade and Encyclopedia salesmen. June Foray, Bill Scott, Paul Frees, and Daws Butler have been in all his shows, and Hans Conried appeared in a couple shows (Dudley Do-Right and Hoppity Hooper)'

Jay, however, did try other voice actors, but they didn't seem to mesh. Alan Reed did the voice of Filmore the Bear in the Hoppity hooper Pilot, but by the time the show was made, they had to recast him, as Alan was heavily in contract with Hanna Barbera at the time... you see, they were doing some little cartoon show about Cavemen....

Yes, Lou did quite a few voices for his cartoons, either uncredited or under the alias name Erik Gunden. Also his wife Jay and his daughter Erika and son Lane did voices too. Kind of reminds me on how Jim Henson and his wife and some of his kids were Muppet performers.

Yeah, I guess when you have the right talent you hold onto them as long as you possibly can.
