Alex, your new siggy is a real humdinger, it is! Makes a good-time-Charlie like myself chortle as if I were watching a three-legged chicken ride a unicycle, you betcha!

What were some of the neat slang words and phrases of the past that you wouldn't find today's kids using?

"Groovy!"
"23 Skidoo!"
"Hubba Hubba!"
"Way Out!"
"Rooty Toot Toot!"
"The Cat's Meow!"
"Daddio!"
"Swingin'!"
"Put me in orbit!"
Swinging pretty much has another meaning now. Not going to go there.

Some people still say Groovey.

The only slang term that didn't manage to wear out and stand the test of time was "Dude." Radical is never used anymore, unless you're talking about a fringe group. Awesome? it's used mainly by masculine crusty old Massachusettes women. Which kills anything. I'm sick of hearing them say Waaaaa-sum. Waaaaawwww- som.... yuck.

I still hear "awesome" and "dude" pretty frequently, but then again, I live near the coast in California. Surfers abound.

Just imagine yourselves in a 60's style coffee house. There's someone on stage reciting poetry while playing the bongos. And the audience start snapping their fingers and saying classic slang like, "Daddio, Crazy, Way Out, Put Me In Orbit!"

Like man, that Ferlinghetti cat is outta sight, ya dig? His verse sends me outta this world, daddy-o! Like me and my chick caught him down in the Village last night, dig, and man he like totally sent us to the cosmos! Man, his verse was like hotter than my cappuccino, ya dig?
