I know he sings sometimes, but I never thought of Bart Simpson as a "rocker"

... and where are Zorak & the Original Way-Outs? They rocked Sonny Sharrock! :sing:

Heehee, glad to see Faith + 1 made the list!

Also happy to see Fat Albert & the Junkyard Gang, and Josie and the Pussycats. Although I assumed Josie would be a little higher on the list...

There are two Simpsons albums available that were created solely in the studio, and NOT simply soundtracks from the series. They are The Simpsons Sing the Blues and The Yellow Album.

The Simpsons Sing the Blues (1990)

1. Do the Bartman - a Bart rap, co-written and co-produced by Michael Jackson. Released as a single, and made into an amusing video.

2. School Day - a duet between Bart and Buster Poindexter, this is a cover of the classic Chuck Berry song. Joe Walsh of the Eagles plays guitar.

3. Born Under a Bad Sign - a Homer solo, with B.B. King on axe.

4. Moanin' Lisa Blues - expanded version of the song heard in the episode Moanin' Lisa. Sung by Lisa, with Joe Walsh on guitar, and John Sebastian on harmonica.

5. Deep, Deep Trouble - the second single off the album, another rap sung by Bart (natch). Produced by D.J. Jazzy Jeff.

6. God Bless the Child - Lisa does Billie Holiday! With her mentor, Bleeding Gums Murphy.

7. I Love to See You Smile - Randy Newman tune, sung by Homer and Marge, with piano work by Dr. John.

8. Springfield Soul Stew - based on the King Curtis tune Memphis Soul Stew, this track is narrated by Marge.

9. Look at All Those Idiots! - Mr. Burns and Smithers have a chance to shine at the mic in this little ditty.

10. Sibling Rivalry - is a Lisa and Bart number.

---------------------------------------

The Yellow Album (1998)

1. Love? - Bart

2. Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves - Lisa doing a cover of the Eurythmics.

3. Funny How Time Slips Away - duet between Homer and Linda Ronstadt.

4. Twenty-Four Hours a Day - Apu

5. The Ten Commandments of Bart - Bart

6. I Just Can't Help Myself - Bart, Lisa and Homer

7. She's Comin' Out Swingin' - Lisa

8. Anyone Else - Bart and Lisa

9. Every Summer with You - Homer and Marge

10. Hail to thee, Kamp Krusty - re-recording of the Kamp Krusty song, with the children's choir including Bart and Lisa

-----------------------------------------

In addition to these two original albums, there are two Simpsons albums released taken directly from the show. These include dialogue snippets and songs. The albums are Songs in the Key of Springfield (1997) and Go Simpsonic (1999). This year, there will be two more: the soundtrack to The Simpsons Movie and Testify, which is another soundtrack compilation from the TV series.

I love the Do the Bartman video  The Deep Deep Trouble video was ok too. I'm still trying to get my mom to get me either of the albums

*pause*

Simpsonitis seems to be taking over this forum...

I know of most of the bands on that site, my favorite being Gorrilaz, but this comment on Crazy Frog's page made me feel happy:

Not since Kermit has an amphibian rocked so hard.
That means that Kermit is one of the big frogs. (pun intended)

Crazy Frog is the poor man's Chipmunks. He's just as bad as Larry and the Crickets and all those cheap knock offs from the 60's.

He ruined a perfectly good movie theme song.

But Kudos for putting Fat Albert on the list.
