Okay, I've narrowed my favorites down to a top three...

(In alphabetical order)

The Day After Tomorrow (SHUT THE **** UP! ! !)

I LIKE THIS MOVIE OKAY? I found it to be rather interesting: and when you really think about it, in some small way, it IS almost like a warning to us; Global Warming is indeed happening as we speak, I mean how cane you people NOT see the evidence? Our summers are getting even hotter and seeing a lot less rain, our winters are warming up and we're seeing a lot less snow, chunks of ice the size of the smallest states are breaking off from northern Canada and Greenland, thus mixing too much fresh water with salt water in the oceans, everything that happened in this movie could very well come true! Canada and the northern U.S. COULD very well start to flood, and this all could very well trigger a new ice age. Now you people always complain about how cold and freezing you are in no 60+ degree weather, so do you really want to live in a world of ice and snow, and temperatures so cold you could freeze instantly? I think not.

On a non-serious note though, I also found each little sub-plot in the story to be somewhat heartwarming in even the smallest degree.

Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

In the words of Samuel L. Jackson, "I like comedies myself", and it's true, I do enjoy funny movies, and it's hard to find a movie that will actually just make me laugh so hard that I eventually either, start to cry, have an asthma attack, or wet myself... and folks, this movie did just that! This wasn't the kind of hilarity I got out of movie since the first time I saw Good Burger when I was a child; but now that I'm older, and understand somewhat mature, and sexually oriented jokes and double-entendras (sp?), I'm able to laugh at things that would more than likey never make sense to me as a little guy, and thus, resulting in me not liking a movie. I, myself, am quite partial to off-beat, off-the-wall, edgy humor, so this movie really offered that to me; not to mention I found that Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller's bad acting acting off of Christine Taylor who was playing just as straight as an arrow (except at the end, hee-hee-hee), and the wacky supporting cast just made the movie even funnier.

Elf

What can I say? I'm easily set into a holiday spirit no matter what time it is, and this movie really helps, in my opinion. It's a really cute, and original story too, and of course, Will Ferrell was just absolutely perfectly cast as Buddy the Elf, who realizes he never was an elf, but a human raised in the elf world; his innocence and naivety towards the human world as he travels to New York City to find his biological father Walter Hobbs (James Caan), who he ends up driving bezerk with the whole elf idea makes for some good mixed emotions: it's funny the way his elf mind makes him "chemically embalanced" as far as his new family and love-life are concerned, but at times, you do feel sorry for him when it seems like he never can do anything right. True to fashion though, in the end, Buddy saves Christmas when he enlistes the help of his "new brother" Michael (Daniel Tay), Walter, and his soon-to-be-girlfriend and wife Jovie (Zooey Deschanel) to get the rest of the world into true Christmas spirit so Santa's (Ed Asner) sleigh can fly once again without the help of a turbine engine.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Mad World is a fun flick. It's a massive, all-star comedy about a search for hidden loot buried beneath a "big W." Where else can you see Jimmy Durante, Milton Berle, Phil Silvers, Jonathan Winters, Jerry Lewis, Don Knotts, The Three Stooges, Buster Keaton, Sid Caesar, Mickey Rooney, Ethel Merman, Spencer Tracy and many, many others in the same film?

Well, I'll add "The Simpsons Movie." Talked about it enough in other forums."Factory Girl" is an interesting film that came out on DVD last week. It's the true story of Edie Segwick (Sienna Miller), a troubled, upper-class society woman who was taken under the wing of Andy Warhol (Guy Pearce), and became his muse and ultimate "Superstar." She starred in many of Warhol's films, and became something of a fashion icon in the 1960s before Warhol more or less tossed her away just as quickly as he made her a star. This is (I believe) Sienna Miller's first leading role in a movie, and she does a supurb job of the troubled, tragic Edie, who was institutionalized many times throughout her short life. Edie was a caring and trusting person, and because of that trust, was used and abused by the rich and famous, and, ultimately, the lower dregs of society.Guy Pearce is excellent as the frosty Warhol. One minute he's lavishing praise on Edie, the next, he's acting as if she doesn't exist, even though they're in the same room together.Hayden Christianson has an interesting role as "Quinn," a poet/rock star who is obviously modeled on Bob Dylan, and who sees the "phoniness" of Warhol and his entourage. The cast also includes Jimmy Fallon, Cary Elwes, Mena Suvari, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and in a tiny role with perhaps one line, Mary-Kate Olson!

Hmmm...the text of my last post got all jumbled up again. Had it spaced and paragraphed, but it came out looking like blah!
