They are completly different! However, I see you live in the UK and here we don't get SS on TV much (at all?) anymore, and we certainly don't see much in the way of Muppets (merch, series, etc) so I can see why someone may have just grasped at the first Muppet name they could remember when seeing a backpack with Muppet-fur and Bulgy white eyes.

By the way, I have the Gonzo backpack (although, heaven knows I don't wear it down town) and I doubt anyone would indentify that bag.

Another possability, perhaps they got Gonzo and Animal muddled up? Animal is red, like Elmo...

Imbarassing you in public hehe

I would. lol You would be surprised what I would wear in public. Probably would imbarass you if we walked together. lol I used to imbarass my friends a lot beecause of my obsession with proudely displaying my ' Muppet Pride. ' In my writing on the walls stage I used to write Jim Lives and weird stuff like that, but we won't go there, and this was years ago. :embarrassed:
I have had quite a few people get the names mixed up. I think is that they know it's a Muppet right, and they know some of their names so of course the ' old school Muppet names would come up like Gonzo, Kermit, and Fozzie seemes to be the most poplure. I don't think it had much to do with the fact they looked alike and someone confused them. Impossible unless somethings is seriously wrong with your eyes. j/k So I think that's what hapened here. :smirk:

Whats wrong with wearing them in public?! I take pride in wearing my elmo or my kermit backpack, I even got Shaun the Sheep!
I love any bag that looks silly!

You mean you aren't that wierd guy in town who walks around wearing the Gonzo backpack? Oh, um, yeah thats ME actually, come to think of it. Where i live (undisclosed location beneath a postbox .... or was that Dangermouse?) TKMAX were doing those backpacks cheap and most girlies were walking around wearing Rizzo or Fozzie ones for months.

But yeah identifying Muppets, its like the two old guys in the balcony question. People know them but can't name them. And coincidentally, i think the only thing they show here is Elmo's world on one of those Channel 5 digital spin-off stations.

He probablyhasn't seen the Muppet's inn so long, that he can't tell the difference. Makes sense seeing how long they've been out of the spot light.:stick_out_tongue:

I found my large Gonzo one on Ebay, (after seeing one on a market stall and getting there seconds after it was sold). I got the Fozzie Bear handbag from an antique bear museam. My small Gonzo was in a second-hand shop.
