So, as I said, it was him, OR someone else who posts similar to the way he does, who first mentioned A LONG time ago that while Twentieth Century Fox claimed that they simply wanted "younger" actors to play these parts, the REAL reason was because they wanted people with marketable names (famous people with famous names), apparently Ross Bagdasarian and Janice Karman are names nobody would recognize, or would be like "Huh? Who?" Which is odd, because MOST people who would be seeing this movie would be fans of The Chipmunks, and even CASUAL fans are all too familiar with Ross and Janice.

But kids of this generation who didn't grow up with the 'munks like previous generations might not've known who plays the 'munks since everybody's voice sounds the same when sped up.

Exactly. Most kids of today don't seemingly care for those people who've paved the way for their B-list drivel. Heck, without Billy Ray's Achy Breaky, Miley wouldn't be as famous as she is, honestly.
