I felt this thread needed an updating!

From The Magic Voyage of Sinbad:

Joel's invention is a Rat Pack chess set. They are halted by a chess piece resembling Frank Sinatra, just as Movie Sign is announced.

Sinatra Chess Piece: Wait a minute! You don't get Movie Sign until I say you get Movie Sign, Capice? (pause) Alright, go ahead, you crumbbums!

---------------------------------------------

Joel: That's not the bluebird of happiness, it's the penguin of giddiness.

---------------------------------------------

Sinbad: Don't you know that when you die, that you die? These riches cannot be taken with you.

Crow: You had to sail the seven flippin' seas to find that out, Cha-Cha?

-----------------------------------------------

Sinbad: What did you sell your freedom for?

Crow: Some Knicks tickets.

-----------------------------------------------

Crow: So is the crowd moving, or is the platform moving? 'Cause the plot isn't moving!

-----------------------------------------------

From Zombie Nightmare:

Captain: She's a harmless old coconut, believe me.

Mike: As a coconut, sir, I'm offended.

----------------------------------------------

(a guy hits a baseball bat against a fence)

Crow: I like the "ting" sound, huh huh huh!

----------------------------------------------

From Racket Girls:

Crow: You know, when Ed Wood saw this, it was like when Truffaut saw Citizen Kane.

Mike: This director has out Ed-Wooded Ed Wood!

From The Giant Gila Monster:

Sheriff: See you later, son!

Chase (guy in movie): Right, sheriff!

Crow: Son? He called me son! No wonder mom cries when I mention the sheriff!

---------------------------------------

Chase (with his French girlfriend): You know English well enough to get a job anywhere.

Crow: Yeah, maybe at a 7-11.

-------------------------------------

Chase: Two twenties!

Tom: That makes thirty dollars! Wow!

----------------------------------------

From Teenage Caveman, starring Robert Vaughn, and actors who aren't exactly "teenage":

Caveman: A member of the clan has come to manhood!

Tom: At the tender age of 37!

---------------------------------------

Tom: If a tree fell in the forest, would Roger Corman go over budget?

---------------------------------------

Crow: Well, this must have been filmed painstakingly over the course of three days.

-----------------------------------------

Crow: I can't believe this guy's supposed to be a teenager.

Tom: Well, he was a teenager when this movie started!

---------------------------------------------

Joel: This script's like a telephone directory.

Crow: Only not as interesting.

Good job WL...

From Racket Girls, the only quip I remember is...
Crow: So Mike, is this the 'Thrilla from Manilla?
Mike: No, it's more like the 'Snooze from Santa Cruz.

From Zombie Nightmare, the movie where they endlessly mocked Adam West for having been Batman.
Mike, after he sees a credit saying the soundtrack/movie music as being provided by Badfinger: Hey, I saw them when they opened for Fist.
Crow, at the end of the movie: Goodbye Caesar Romero, you were the best Joker ever.

From The Magical Voyage of Sinbad... The one problem I have, as any true MSTie should have whenever you attribute a quote to Sinbad...
*In Gypsy voice: Heeee's not Sinbad!
When they ind the Bluebird of Happiness... Joel and Servo are affected by her power, falling asleep leaving Crow to continue ripping Also, this was in the third quarter of the movie, they wake up to find out that Crow's jettisoned himself from the S.O.L. to pursue some grander quest.
The part I remember best is when Neptune's daughter comes out to talk to Sinbad when he's playing the harp.
Joel: Uh, Mr. Sinbad... The neighbors have askd me if you could please turn it down.
Crow: Take it to the bridge! Drop it in the water.
Joel: She's a tall drink of water.

Keep it comin'!

Thanks, Count!

BTW, did you ever notice in Soultaker, when Joel returns to the SOL, he enters through the theater?

--------------------------------------------

From It Lives by Night, a 70s schlocker about a dude who turns into a man-bat. Or something...

Crow (on the movie's title): Well, It shouldn't drink so much coffee!

----------------------------------------------

(mumbling tramp)

Tom: He sounds like the Swedish Chef Muppet.

------------------------------------------------

(bat-guy drinks a bag filled with blood)

Crow: O Negative, now in the new wide-mouth slam can!

--------------------------------------------------------

(cop picks up empty bag of blood)

Crow: He killed the bag!

---------------------------------------------

Crow: So who was this movie's target audience?

Tom: I don't know. A bat fetishist named Stan, and even he missed it.

----------------------------------------------

Mike: My father was a master bat hunter. Guess that makes me bat master's son.

-------------------------------------------------

Tom (sings): Bat on the run/Bat on the run!

----------------------------------------------

Woman: Dr. Kipling?

Tom: Riki-tiki-tavi is waiting for you.

---------------------------------------------

Crow: Wouldn't this have been a better movie if he had gotten bit by a cow?

---------------------------------------------

(the man-bat steals an ambulance)

Crow: I guess by definition I'm in the bat-mobile now.

-------------------------------------------------

Doctor: Mrs. Beck...

Mike: You're a loser, baby...

---------------------------------------------------

From The Space Children, featuring the unforgettable image of Jackie Coogan (The Addams Family) in a pair of shorts:

Mike: The producers had a very strange idea that Jackie Coogan was hot.

-----------------------------------------------

Doctor: Children, I'm your friend.

Tom: Uncle Baldo.

---------------------------------------------

Crow: Nellie Manly, whose real name is Sissy Macho!

-----------------------------------------------

Crow: This is the exact moment Jackie Coogan became Uncle Fester.

Tom: And lo, he put his head in a vise and slept on a bed of nails.

-----------------------------------------------------

Doctor: Is there no man on the earth who has the wisdom and the innocence of a child?

Mike: Joe Besser?

Really? All I remember is Joel entering in the background and then leaving to go fix Gypsy.

It Lives by Night...
Another one where they ripped with the Batman puns.
Mike: *On writing a confessional letter or talking to some cop: My name's Bruce Wayne, yes BW, I'm Batman.

Time travel movie I don't remember the name of, probably the one with Mike's brother Eddie after the whole Roman epic series of episodes.
Crow: He's probably down there with George Washington chopping down the cherry tree, and Thomas Jefferson making time with his slaves...
Mike: Aw, just like Pooh.
Crow: Yeah, just like poo.

BTW: Are we nearing the month of Septober?
Joel: Just in time for Septoberfest.

Joel actually hangs around for a bit during the host segments of Soultaker. He enters and exits through the theater. The 'Bots are excited to see him, and Joel chats with Mike. TV's Frank also makes an appearance. He refers to Brain Guy as a "Hostess Snowball."

Time Chasers is the one with Mike's "brother" Eddie. I quoted it somewhere in this thread. The lead is a guy with a "dinner roll for a chin." The Eddie stuff is funny, though, with his snide comments and abuse of the 'Bots, who agree with everything he says.

Yeah... Frank even closes the episode by saying Joel was on his list, prompting a quick exit by the former host.
This visit has a negative effect on Mike though... Three movies later, in another bad time travel dinosaur film, he's acting out like an ignoramisaur with some goofy stuffed toy.

Timechasers... Funny stuff, much more memorable for the host segments than the movie itself.
Heartwarming moment between Mike and Crow at Pearl's at the beginning...
And funny to think that somewhere in 1986 there's an extra Crow working at the same supermarket as Mike and Eddie did once long ago.

Another thing about Soultaker...Joel actually comes back to fix the SOL, because Dr. Forrester set it to self-destruct after ten years. At the end, Pearl and Frank play ring toss with Professor Bobo's soul.

A few Time Chasers quotes...

Crow: Who did they think this would appeal to, anyway? Elderly squirrels?
Mike: People without heads.
Crow: Toadstools.
Tom: Clumps of dirt, maybe.
Mike: Barber poles?
Crow: Coffee tables, perhaps.
Tom: Little bits of material that break off of plastic trays?
Mike: Used napkins?
Crow: Italians, maybe.
Mike: Crow!
Crow: What?
Mike: A little off the point there.
Crow: Oh, I'm sorry. I see what you're saying...Germans?
Mike: No!

-------------------------------------------------

Mike: Oh, he's trying to get honey like Pooh.
Crow: Well, he's like poo all right.

---------------------------------------------------

Nick: You still don't get it, do you?
Crow: Kevin Spacey was Keyser Sose!

---------------------------------------------------

Tom: This is as good as any Bond film. Gold Bond Medicated Powder, that is!

--------------------------------------------------

Crow: The movie really heightens the lack of interest in the film.

--------------------------------------------------

Tom: Two different plaids? Man, I'm a naked robot, and even I know that's a fashion no-no!

---------------------------------------------------

Crow (to "past Mike" in host segment): Exactly when in the future will you become not stupid, Mike?

--------------------------------------------------------

Then there's Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, a film made for public television, starring Raul Julia as "Fingal."

Crow: You know, Eraserhead was easier to follow than this movie.

(after Fingal downloads "Casablanca" on his computer)

Tom: Never show a good movie in the middle of your crappy movie.

Crow: You know, if I was going to scroll up a "cinema," I'd scroll up, I don't know, maybe Dirty Dingus McGee.

------------------------------------------------------

Mike: Winston Churchill's mobbed-up brother, Vito.

-------------------------------------------------------

Good host segments, spoofing PBS pledge drives. Pearl and Brain Guy's duet is a highlight.

You know... At a time like this, I think it best to share my first MST3K moment/joke.
The first episode I ever saw was from the Gamera series... Joel and the Mads were in a constant one-upmanship involving the Invention Exchange, upgrading the classic "BANG!" flag pistol.
As soon as Joel and the bots sat down to find their movie was Gamera vs. Gaos, they quipped...
"Gaylight come and we wan go hooooome!"

Why do I bring this up? To show Crow T. Robot some solace, as the love of his life Estelle (Alice Ghostly) died yesterday. Yes, this romantic revelation was first proclaimed in the 3rd quarter host segment of The Magic Sword. And now I'm sure the little guy's shedding some silent tears.
Brave on Crow... You're wisecracks make us all smile, and so we hope to make you smile in turn.
