Well, guys. Been awhile since I've posted on here. Gotta say something really big and important.

Me and Rob have our own house! It's a nice, 3 bedroom modular home, with a nice kitchen; and and wonderful living room. I don't live there yet, but I will after we get married.

We'll be getting married on June 20th, 2009. And um, I guess that's all I have to really say on that matter. Pictures will possibly follow to show off our wonderful house.

I'm still car-less, and I'm currently in Voc Rehab again; but I'm doing well. Rob is doing quite well, and we've already celebrated one year together as a couple, and come Christmas Day we'll have celebrated a whole year being engaged!

He's still working at the Airport as Building Maintence (Janitor), he's the "Safety Inspector", as well as general building maintence.

Well, I'll be talking to you guys hopefully soon. Love ya'll.

Glad to hear it's going well, Sara! And hope the new digs work out all right when you move in.

I grew up with late-80s and early-90s SS; I remember seeing a bunch of sketches that still had Jim and Richard's characters in them. Of course, since I was 4 going on 5 in 1990, I wonder how many of those sketches were re-runs.

I had a few Muppet books when I was a kid, and I remember that I had a Kermit doll for a couple of years. Now, if only I'd been able to get a hold of a Scooter plush...

Yup, if you watched SS in the '80s, you didn't realize how many sketches were 10 years old at that point, it's quite incredible!

I always remember Forgetful Jones and Placido Flamingo, they were regulars. And that "Numberella" sketch I mentioned awhile back where Richard played the prince, I think I actually had a small crush on that character at the time, lol. Watching it now, I love how Richard has the prince saying goodbye to all the guests and for no apparent reason says, "Bye, Julius Caesar!" The cast must have had quite a time keeping up with him sometimes, hehe.

And yes, I'd love a Scooter plushie too!

Scooter really looks like he'd translate well into a kid's plush toy. What can I say, he just looks like a Muppet you'd want to curl up with - although that goes for most of the Muppets, of course.

Yeah, I really remember the "No" song that Gina and Maria did, and I must have seen that in a first-run episode. And I remember sitting at the kitchen table afterwards, drinking chocolate milk, and just wondering why so many ordinary things were forbidden in that song. "No cooking...no rhyming..."

I don't remember seeing Forgetful Jones or Placido Flamingo all that much. I did of course see the "Oklahoma" sketch. (Poor Kermit...)

As for the others, I remember all the principals: Ernie, Bert, Big Bird, Grover, Oscar, Betty Lou, Praire Dawn, Telly, and so on. If Elmo was really getting going by then, I don't remember seeing him.

Hmm, confusing little number indeed, lol. It never scared me like some people say, but it was a bit strange, hehe.

Actually I remember a lot of Forgetful Jones but somehow never saw the famous "Oklahoma" sketch, lol. My main memory is FJ singing "What's the Name of That Song." Because of the way they did it, I thought he was asking the name of the song, and they were all saying "La de da de da" was the name of that song, lol. :insatiable:

I know what you mean. It was a catchy number - I liked the collage-y effects, but I found myself thinking, "How odd - in that song you can't do a lot of ordinary, okay stuff."

I mean, I guess they just wanted kids to understand the importance of the word "No", since it's something they have to hear a lot, hehe. Actually when I listen to the song, I always heard it like they were lamenting at how sad it was that there was "no cooking, no rhyming..." That's just how it sounded to me, lol. :insatiable:

Oh cool! Yeah I'd forgotten until recently that it was on in the morning and afternoon ("arvo", I love that! hehe). I remember because I used to see it in the morning, and then again at my friend's house at night. (So if I was scared of something on the show that morning, I knew I'd have to see it again later that day! Yay! Hehe)

That's so great that you still have all that! I had a ton of SS merchandise when I was a kid but it's all gone now, ::sniff::. I have a photo of me crying around two or three years old and my hand is on my gigantic Sesame Street toy chest, lol. It looked like a bus with all the characters looking out the windows, with Barkley in the bank, it was so cute.

I recently bought some old SS tapes from Amazon that I used to have and watched every single day, hehe. They were little Sesame Street adventures but presented with still drawings of all the characters.

I think my favorite was "Big Bird Brings Spring to Sesame Street."
Big Bird is really depressed about all the snow in winter so a friend gives him some beautiful flowers to remind him of spring. But throughout the day, he ends up giving up a flower to Grover, Oscar and Bert, who are also upset by the winter. Big Bird eventually loses all the flowers, which makes even more depressed. Until he sees his friends standing all around Sesame Street with his flowers, making everything a bit brighter and more cheerful. And it was all due to his generosity, what a great message.
That is so awesome! Wasn't that a Golden Book too, "Big Bird Brings Spring to Sesame Street"? Yes, I still have my Golden Book collection. What a nice message, too.^^ I love my old SS tapes, I would like to get s'more soon. I remember it was Easter or Christmas when I was about 3 and I got this video from my Nanna, "Big Bird's Favourite Party Games"- I still have it! And that photo sounds so sweet! Yeah, I still have my stuff, but I do regret selling alot of my things (POPPLES! *Sob*).

Hey Sara! I haven't spoken to you fer well over a year. Has it been that long? (Duh-nuh!)
It's so great to hear that you've found a house and getting married in, well, next year- wow!
I wish you all the best, and I hope all is well.

Yeah, I remember a lot of 80's sketches, like re-runs, because I saw a lot of Jiim and Richard characters, and they died before I was born. -_- I remember a lot of Glady's sketches- lol!

That is SO cool that you had a Scooter plush! I've always been a big Mupept collector, but I've never had one of those...

That's the ones! Now that I think about it, I also always loved the Super Grover sketches. "Remember this kids, it is very important! Even if your mommy makes you a super hero costume, do not try to fly because you can not do it! You do not have super powers! Because there is only one Super Grover!...And that is me." : D

Grover's my absolute favorite, lol. And Frank Oz I think is my second favorite Muppet performer because of his spot on sense of humor, and how kind he was to Richard of course.

One of the Gladys sketches I remember as a kid was when Bob wants to sing the Sesame Street theme and Glady gets all upset and refuses to sing the song about "sweeping the cows away!" Thankfully, Bob corrects her, hehe.

When I was little though I was always confused about whether Gladys was a boy or girl, lol. Obviously she had a girl's name and was a COW, but she sounded more like a guy, lol.

I so remember that! Thank you for reminding me! I used to think that Gladys was a guy when I was little, heh!

Hope everything works out for you Sara!
