Oh fer shur, Heralde! I LOVED it... I grew up with 90's SS, but I remember it having a lot of sketches from the 80's, too. It was on twice a day, wasn't it? Morning and arvo? And I still have all of my SS videos and toys which I had when I was a young... buck. In fact, just the other day, I came across a picture of me when I was about... meh, three or four, and I was playing in this little house-thingy which my mum and my brother made for me out of cardboard boxes, and it was the '123' apartment from SS! And I had all my toys peeping out of the windows and all... it was vair cute.
Oh cool! Yeah I'd forgotten until recently that it was on in the morning and afternoon ("arvo", I love that! hehe). I remember because I used to see it in the morning, and then again at my friend's house at night. (So if I was scared of something on the show that morning, I knew I'd have to see it again later that day! Yay! Hehe)
That's so great that you still have all that! I had a ton of SS merchandise when I was a kid but it's all gone now, ::sniff::. I have a photo of me crying around two or three years old and my hand is on my gigantic Sesame Street toy chest, lol. It looked like a bus with all the characters looking out the windows, with Barkley in the bank, it was so cute.
I recently bought some old SS tapes from Amazon that I used to have and watched every single day, hehe. They were little Sesame Street adventures but presented with still drawings of all the characters.
I think my favorite was "Big Bird Brings Spring to Sesame Street."
Big Bird is really depressed about all the snow in winter so a friend gives him some beautiful flowers to remind him of spring. But throughout the day, he ends up giving up a flower to Grover, Oscar and Bert, who are also upset by the winter. Big Bird eventually loses all the flowers, which makes even more depressed. Until he sees his friends standing all around Sesame Street with his flowers, making everything a bit brighter and more cheerful. And it was all due to his generosity, what a great message.
