After listening to MuppetCast episode 41(For the second time actually,) I found myself liking the story that Jane told about the woman walking up to her at Richard's memorial. How she told Jane that after she went through her divorce, Richard was there for her by taking her out to dinner. After that story, I realized just how much of a gentleman Richard was. He didn't do that for his own gain, but rather, to see that woman happy. Of course, I liked all the other stories about him, like the littering story that Frank mentioned, or the way Richard reacted when David Rudman recognized him(And that certain quote Rudman said Richard had shouted when Richard had seen him at the workshop a year later. Laugh everytime I hear that.)

Anyway, I also really liked Richard's onscreen appearance in Trading Places(I liked that entire movie actually. My mom had said a quote from that movie months ago and I had no idea that it was from that movie until I watched it a few weeks ago. Very surprised when I heard it in the movie actually.) Couldn't help but smile when I saw his face, and on our large TV no matter. He was very handsome in that movie. Anyway, I could go on and on about what I like about that man.
And as you can see, Snowball, we could also go on and on about what we like about that man, if the last 400+ pages of RHLC topics are any indication.

Yeah, the story about Richard taking his friend out for a few nights on the town (over the course of six weeks, from the sound of it) to help her heal from the divorce dramas is one of my favorites as well. It really does say something about Richard, the way he steps in to be there for a friend like that.

It made me think of the James Taylor song "Her Town, Too;" the song's about a woman who's gone through a very public, very bitter, divorce, and the speaker is calling her on the phone to let her know someone still cares for her. "You never know 'till it all falls down, somebody loves you, somebody still loves you..." That's the way I see Richard's relationship with Linda (at least, that's what Jane indicated the woman's first name was).

On the subject of Richard's cameo in "Trading Places:" that's also a favorite around here. And we agree completely when you say he looked very handsome during his appearance - Richard is one of those guys who looks really sharp in a three-piece suit. :flirt:

So I tried downloading the Muppetcast instead, lol, and while it took a little longer, it finally worked. Very nice interview with Jane, she's sounds so cool and friendly, and does a great imitation of the Swedish Chef!

And hey, you guys were right, he did get the gap closed! It would make sense if it was done for Trading Places. As you guys were saying above, he did have to look more daper for the role (though I think he always looked daper in his own way hehe). It's rough (and probably painful considering it's dental work!) but you have to make these kinds of sacrifices in show business sometimes!

Great summary. It was a little short, but also kind of seemed the perfect length for a pre-DVD release. I love the story with Elmo and can't wait to see those pictures.

Indeed. People often must change to fit in, whether it be show business, school, work, or anywhere with people.

But wait a minute - when I saw his spot on "Down at Fraggle Rock," I saw a distinct gap in his teeth. And that would have been 3-4 years after "Trading Places."

Perhaps he got into a scuffle and lost a tooth?
I just rewatched the clip on YouTube. He had a pretty pronounced gap in Trading Places, as far as I could tell.

So I guess we don't know why he got it fixed then...any further speculation?
