The real culprit behind bad health and the need for alternative sweeteners is corn syrup. That's the stuff that should never enter the human body. In fact, corn itself isn't a healthy food. It has fiber, but little more than that and lots of sugar. It is fine to eat as a sometimes food, yet I am allergic due to unwitting, forced over-consumption of the additive at an early age.
It's hard for consumers to get away from it because it's in everything. Cut out anything with corn syrup in it for two weeks and just about anyone will drop a substantial amount of weight.
There are many reasons why corn is so big in this country and let me tell you there will be a time when the corn lobby is singled out just like Big Tobacco.
Just because something comes from nature doesn't mean it's good for you or healthy to eat.
I do have artificial sweeteners. There's no way around it for me unless I just stick to juice and water. Anyway, I likes my Splenda too. I like it good. It's best when fizzy.
