Just wondering if anybody likes these old children's book series:

Mr Men and Little Miss by Roger Hargreaves

Sweet Pickles by Jacquelyn Reinach, Ruth Lerner Perle, and Richard Hefter

How Spider Saved by Robert Kraus

I found the Sweet Pickles to have some similarities with the Mr. Men and Little Misses.

Unfortunately, I have never heard of any of these books, nor have I heard of the authors. Could you tell me what they are about?

Sweet Pickles ruled. When I was five (1979), Captain Kangaroo used to read the Sweet Pickles books on his show. They were really great for kids.

Mr Men is quality but I never liked Little Miss as much. In fact, I remember them being shown as a TV series after Sesame street when I was little!

Ah, Mr. Men. The quality entertainment that I was given when I was younger. I yearn for those days... kinda.

On second thought, I'll stick with Sam the Eagle.

I do love the Hargreaves series though. I always thought that they were rather funny books.

Does anybody know AlphaTales, a similar series to the Sweet Pickles books? They are published by Scholastic.

Oh yeah. I loved Sweet Pickles as a kid. I would look forward to getting two new SP books in the mail every few weeks. It also featured the rare squirrel known as a Xerus. Which is what I go by on here.

I want to look into "How Spider Saved" now, since that's the only series I don't remember - but I know I loved the others, so I'm sure I would have loved that, too! Also, Richard Scarry books, Little Critter books by Mercer Mayer, etc!:insatiable:
