...Why do birds fall out of the sky? Every time you walk by? Just like me, they long to be, away from you.... would be the opposite of all that.

I like the version of this song in Mirrormask. Something about that version just makes my ears utterly happy!!!

A friend of mine (who used to work at a video store) loves Mirrormask! He told me I should see it, but I never did get around to it.

I've heard some bad and some good things about it, though.

I adore Mirrormask. My bf on the other hand, not so much. If you like anything by Niel Gaiman, more spacifically The Sandman graphic novels, you'll like this. It's his books coming to life. quite surreal. visually stunning. The CGI is spot on. On a fluke I found one single copy at Best Buy right next to Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas (another great flick) & snatched it right up. I heard about it way before it came out b/c of Gaimans attachment to it. It was in limited release in only a handful of art house venues. I tried to get off of work to make an overnight trip to St. Louis, MO from Lincoln, NE, but the boss would have none of it. *frown* I am currently looking ever so diligently for the soundtrack.

Before I had seen it I had read nothing but horridly scathing reviews of the film. I can see some of the view points, but it doesn't change my opinion of the flick. I love it.

I'm guessing this is what the CGI in The Power Of The Dark Crystal will look like. a little live action (puppetry, tpotdc) with mostly cgi.

Why do Birds? Suddenly appear everytime You are Near.
:sing: Because, Just like me they long to be Close to you!

On the day that you were born
The angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold
And starlight in your eyes of blue.

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around.
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.:sing:

those are both answers but, I think, to more important questions than this
Actually, 42 very much applies to the question, I would assume. The question was "why do birds?" If one had an intimate knowledge of why birds do what birds do, you would find it completely unrelated to anything mankind does, other than that it is exactly the sort of thing mankind would do. If we accept this fact, than it applies to nothing whatsoever, and therefor has everything to do with the meaning of life. Thus, 42.
