Hi guys. Did you guys know that Bert actually had a girlfriend named Berta in one episode. Only ONE. After that one episode I never saw Berta again. The show probably decided to remove her and keep Bert with Ernie, which was a good idea. Still Berta never appeared again. What do you guys think about even adding Berta to the cast? She was a girl who seemed to like bland soda with no flavor, and she had a pet pigeon, and she loved bottle caps which are all like Bert. I honestly liked her to be in the one episode but they should have added a conclusion to Berta's appearances. What are your guys opinions on Berta?

It is pretty odd she never appeared again. You would've thought the episode would've ended with her leaving Sesame Street or something.

I really think it’s honestly just a case of her intended to simply be a one and done since she is practically a carbon copy of Bert, just the opposite sex. To me no different than someone like his brother Bart being a one and done. That said perhaps she could have at least been referenced, though her being a street scene character probably contributed to her being forgotten quickly.

I kind of agree with you that she should have appeared only once but still her character remained unknown and unsure if she is still with Bert or broke up with him. But making her a big character like Ernie will be way too far and destroying the whole concept of Bert and Ernie.
