If that's how DIsney going to deal that way, then I'm giving up hope the Muppets. The Muppet Show special is a success for nothing. It's the end of the Muppets, unless, if there's any important Muppet like Kermit the Frog make a clarification?😢

Just goes back to my point. Disney has nondesire to be creative with The Muppets. They exist solely to sell merch now. When merch sales dip they may do a quick showing to remind people they still exist. Then back in the box outside of an out of place appearance here and there.

Disney doesn't need The Muppets and doesn't really want them. They need to be with a company that wants to be creative with them and use merch sales to fund their creative vision, much like Jim Henson.

Can somebody lock this thread down before I become more doom and gloomier? And I feel like quitting this forum!

Or you could be happy that a 70 year old puppet franchise is still around and making new content in 2026? What other puppet franchises from 70 years ago are still active?

I could, but once again, I'm losing hope for the fate of Muppets! I guess The Muppet SHow Special is a success for nothing! Man, I can't believe I'm back to this doom and gloom nonsense! I blame my autism for it! 😢

Becca Petunia: How many times have we seen a project where we felt, by we, I mean like people at large, felt like "if this one doesn't succeed, the Muppets are doomed"? "Muppets 2015 ended, we're never going to see the Muppets again. Muppets Mayhem ended, this might be it for the Muppets. Muppets Tonight ended. This might be it for the Muppets. Muppets from Space flopped. This might be it for the
Muppets. Um, you know, the Jim Henson Hour flopped. This might be it for the Muppets." I know from being on the forums and stuff and then for writing for Tough Pigs that we had these discussions, you know, when the 2015 show was cancelled, there were people being like, "This is it. Disney doesn't like the Muppets anymore." And then they do always come back. You know guys, they have a new roller coaster this year. And I know that that roller coaster is not maybe what everybody wanted, but there are other things the Muppets are doing. So, I don't think that the Muppets are dead as a brand if this show doesn't get picked up.
