So apparently a pilot for a reboot of the Muppet Show was filmed on the first, and Seth Rogan is producing it… I wonder why no one made a thread or even mentioned this rumor on this forum to my knowledge.

Speaking for myself, I honestly don’t care anymore when it comes to the future of the Muppets. The Muppets are finished as far as I’m concerned, and ToughPigs isn’t a source anyone should be looking to for my opinion.

I know it’s my bias talking, but here’s the thing: with the decline in the quality of the Muppets, the fact that many important people involved in the franchise have been wrongfully pushed out, and with everything else going on in the world, a lot of us just don’t have the time or energy to sit around worrying about Muppet rumors. As far as I’m concerned, Disney has completely lost the ability to handle them properly.

Like it’s even gonna go anywhere.

It will only get one season if it’s lucky to get past the pilot and fail.

I’m sorry but after 2015, it’s like Disney doesn’t even try anymore with these franchise of characters.

I agree Tough Pigs isn’t the best source and has seen better days, it’s just the most convenient article to link to as it had a screen shot of the now deleted so called job listing thing found by Muppet fans on either Discord or Reddit

To be honest I do have doubts but I felt it was noteworthy enough to post about, I highly doubt it would even be successful as people still find Vogel’s Kermit odd (understandably so)

All i can really say on the matter is...

If it ever get picked up/succeed? Great
If it ended up being a flop? That's on whoever's in charge of the network/production

Matt’s performances as Kermit alone wouldn’t be a justifiable reason to end a series unless Disney was THIS extremely petty and looked for some lame excuse to can their next series early (which knowing them, I wouldn’t put it past them).

I agree, but my point that I didn’t articulate well enough, was that I think the casual viewers won’t tune in to watch the next theoretical episodes after the pilot because of them finding Kermit’s “new” voice strange, is it fair probably not but that’s just how I think it’ll turn out.

Well then that’s their problem if they want to feel that way about Kermit’s current performer. In the end, Matt is at most tolerable for me.

Speaking for myself, I have to admit that I’m still not sold on Matt Vogel performing as Kermit at all. Don’t get me wrong—I do think he’s a talented performer, but I just don’t think he’s the right person for the role. He struggles to capture the personality and charisma of the character that both Jim Henson and Steve Whitmire conveyed so well.
